NFL GAME DAY DISCUSSION Official 2023 Free Agency Thread

The $74 in 2024 cap space becomes much less impressive when one considers the fact that this only accounts for 25 contracted players.

Also, I forgot that KC already freed up $10m in cap space prior to free agency using Mahomes’ contract, so he is no longer an option this offseason.

The Chiefs did tap into Mahomes’ contract, creating nearly $10 million in cap space with an accounting move affecting a $35 million bonus.

Thuney’s projected cap number is already scheduled to be $22m in 2024. Would they want to restructure his contract for a second year in a row? I doubt it.
Can't you restructure Mahomes contract every year to free up cap? Or am I mistaken?

Will not be suprised at all to see Mac soon to follow..

Mahomes is 2-2 against the Belichick...and would be 3-1 if it weren't for a Dee Fords offsides. I think he'll do just fine against Mac/Zappe/whatever.
Gotta love the "if it wasn't for" argument

Like how if it weren't for N'Keal Harry being called out of bounds when he wasn't and if it weren't for Cam Newton getting Covid...then Kermit would be 0-4 against the Patriots lol

Gotta love the logic here. If Harry scored, the game would have been tied at 23-23 with 13:15 left in the 4th quarter. But somehow according to Pats fans that translates into a win...

That and the early whistle that denied the Patriots a scoop 6.

Either way that game didn't matter so Kermit remains winless in games that matter against Tom Brady, the greatest QB of all time, winner of more rings than any other NFL franchise and the role model for excellence when it matters most. Says it all!

YOu still haven't answered the question as to why Brady is 2-9 against some of the worst QBs over the past 20 years in the playoffs...beating Mahomes means nothing if you can't beat crappy QBs when it matters. On the other hand, Mahomes hasn't lost to a bad QB in the playoffs yet. He lost to a top 5 all time QB in Brady and Burrow and that's it....

Mahomes is facing a very stout defense.

The Pats would be 4-0 against Mahomes if the league wasn't favoring him. Especially with the ridiculous non-calls that the Chiefs have gotten. (See I can point out stuff like that too).

Because it's irrelevant and has nothing to do with anything.

Brady went to 10 SBs, winning 7 of them. Brady also did that with 4 different Coordinators and 2 Different HCs. Mahomes hasn't faced jack in terms of adversity the way Brady did.

BTW, SFBs, only you claim that the likes of Flacco, Plummer, and Eli are "bad" QBs.

Your spiel is just moronic BS that shows your mouth is surgically attached to Mahomes' jock and your just being a troll.

Adversity like playing in the AFC East for 20 years? A weak AFC? You got me there...

all the signs point you are clearly not a fan
why is a chiefs fan and brady basher allowed to troll here non-stop

It actually does mean something. Meant two extra Super Bowl titles for Brady, as a matter of fact. This current gimmick kinda sucks, man, look at the type of bait you're having to resort to throwing out there. "Beating Mahomes doesn't matter if you lose to Nick Foles". Yeah, sure, lol. "Tom Brady is 33-4 against non-suck QBs in the playoffs" surely will be brought up against him when he's eligible for the Hall of Fame.

And the AFC West has been such a Bastion of talent. ROFLMAO.

Clearly you don't like facts.
Adversity the Pats faced with Brady as a starter:

- Having your QB Coach DIE prior to the start of your sophomore season.
- TWICE The Pats had to use 4 OTs in their SB runs. And they WON the SB.
- TWICE, they needed to use a WR as a DB. OH. And they WON the SB.
- Mahomes hasn't done S**T when his O-line get's injured and has to rely on reserves.
- Mahomes has had the LUXURY of having the same OC since he became a starter. That changes this year.
- 3 times the Pats have a starting safety go down in the SB with a broken arm or clavicle. 2 of the 3 times they still WON it all. (Should have won the 3rd time as well, but the league LITERALLY used a different set of rules for the game to ensure the Patriots didn't win. Not to mention blowing MAJOR calls like Foles being lined up illegally.)

I can school you all day long. Fact is that your heartthrob can't even beat a team that allows the most sacks in the league... That's WORSE than the league screwing over the Pats for the likes of Eli and Foles..

He did face some adversity in Super Bowl 55 with his starting OT's out for the game. This was the result. Speaks for itself.

Kermit is so clutch... Brady only wishes he was like Kermit.

better than having a losing playoff record against Eli, Foles, Tannehill, Plummer, Sanchez, and Flacco…ouch.

And Kermit can’t beat him when it matters. Doesn’t say much for Kermit…
