Re: Official 2007 NFL Draft 1st Round Discussion

I don't think Branch gets by Dallas honestly. They love their big DL in Texas.

Oh and just a warning flag but Olsen is still out there. I'm not sure that BB could withstand the temptation if he should slide.

Re: Official 2007 NFL Draft 1st Round Discussion

If KC doesn't take Quinn, then the Pats will trade their #28 to the Browns to beat out Baltimore or Chicago.

Re: Official 2007 NFL Draft 1st Round Discussion

15 minutes per pick is too freakin long.

Re: Official 2007 Patriots Draft Thread

Might as well jump ahead and say -- Staley to the Giants.

Re: Official 2007 NFL Draft 1st Round Discussion

meh i rather Houston. I like my CBs fast enough to stick with guys like Steve Smith..Chad Johnson..and so on. Also like them real physical..Houstons got a nice jam and sticks to them

I like Houston too, the only thing I worry about is how raw he is. The Pats can coach him up though, he has serious potential as a top cover corner. His run support is a little iffy too.

i was thinking same .. Dallas goes Branch or Spencer

DAMN!!

OK, Aaron Ross it looks like will be a Pat

GOD. I hope not. Ross is everything the Pats DON'T look for.

Not field intelligent. Lousy strength. Struggled with academics. Marginal Tackler.

Come on. As BB is fond of saying: "Don't give me a defensive player who can't tackle. What am I going to do with him?"

Three names for the Giants:
Staley
Beason
Posluszny

I'll go OT Joe Staley

I dunno how he got the "marginal tackler" rap. I watched all but one Texas game this year (kind of hard to miss them here in San Antonio), and Ross struck me a solid tackler at the CB position. He produced very high tackle numbers for a corner as well, and that's not from getting beat and then tackling his man.

Re: Official 2007 NFL Draft 1st Round Discussion

eh
Giants need secondary
Jacksonville can use a safety
Dallas can use a FS like Nelson or a young corner to start across Newman..KC can use a CB

we need help
i think Giants go defense

Jacksonville goes Safety
Dallas goes with Spencer

With 5 teams to pick ahead of us,
Pats are sure to have a choice among these 6:

Ross/Poz/Griffin/Wade/Harris/Houston.

agreed. i think Houston is the 1 with questions about run support..supposivly he doesnt enjoy coming up

Wade is a late 2 prospect..

Well, you are also the person who claimed that Revis has bad feet.

Also, I suggest you go back and look at HOW he tackled. He's not a wrap up tackler. He's a grab and drag type tackler. That's not a good thing. Also, He's not great against the run.

Re: Official 2007 NFL Draft 1st Round Discussion

Re: Official 2007 NFL Draft 1st Round Discussion

So much for Griffin at 24.
