I dont know this (and I'm not being sarcastic), but doesnt the commish make these rules? If it's a rule and he's breaking it, that sounds like bad news. I personally think it's great and admirable that he would pay the fine, but it sounds like trouble to be making it public. And didnt Ocho say he was lying low and not talking to the media much?

I can't see how this is worse than what went on last year with James Harrison of the Steelers calling Goodell every name in the book, and that went on for many weeks.

Somehow the Steelers managed to survive without any commissioner interference, unless Goodell helped the Packers secretly...


Incidentally, has anyone caught Ochocinco's girlfriend on Basketball Wives? A real piece of work! I think it's safe to say that Ocho is drawn to drama both professionally and personally. It's part of the deal with him, I just hope the talent on the field makes it worth the while.

AS for the other stuff. Let's not blow this out of proportion. He's certainly not committing a capital offense here. It's just not something that I wish he'd tone down..... Until he catches 24 TD's passes in a single season that is

The league absolutely HAD to fine Mason. They called a personal foul penalty on the play for leading with the helmet. You know a fine is coming for that 100% of the time. If you are going to "call out the commish", you might as well do it on a questionable call. This isn't one. You can argue the penalty, but once it's made....... the fine will follow in these times.

Standing on principle is fine and all, you are just not gonna win as a player going up against Goodell. He doesn't have the sense of humor that many of us has. If a coach says that the officiating in a game blows, they get fined 100% of the time.......... Even when the officiating actually blows.

What's the effing purpose..... so Ocho's twitter followers know that he's a man of principle. Swell. as long as that's only $$ out of his pocket fine....... But if the commish want's to be a monumental douche bag (which he is) and wants to make an example out of him and suspends him for a game.....

That effects the team.... why chance it.

Just play football.... help your team win a title and leave the social commentary to others.

They also noted the reporting where Goodell's assistants celebrated with the Jets after the OT win against Cassell by saying, "I told you you'd win!" right outside the locker room.

If I felt like my team actually cheated to win titles and glory, I'm not sure that I could be a fan of that team anymore.
