Or alternatively, placing Vick where it is best for the NFL as a whole (which is what the head of the NFL should do). On a less competitive team, Vick's accomplishments might have been completely lost translating to a less competitive and less interesting league, lower market shares, fewer fans.

Either way, I think Vick is doing more good than harm where he is at and if Goodell pushed him towards Philly I still don't consider it abusing his power. I don't think Vick would be able to help those teams without having the skill players that he has around him in Philly.

Given Chad's past and personality, I don't see this as thumbing his nose at all. And really, take a way a first round pick? That's a little over the top.

Honestly I think this is a little different that his usual pub stunt antics. This is Chad taking a stand on something he believes in. I can respect that even if I don't like it because of the potential ramifications to the team. But this is nothing close to tweeting about living with a fan. Agreed, and at this point, unless he gets something like a 4game suspension which would be absolutely absurd I don't see it hurting the team much at all.

The Pats weren't punished because they were video taping the opposition's sidelines. The NFL has been okay with that for several years and the Pats certainly weren't the only team doing it. The Pats were punished because of WHERE they were videotaping. With that in mind, a docking of the first round pick to go along with one of the steepest fines the NFL has ever seen is quite a joke, hence my first post.

How serious of an offense you perceive Spygate to be depends 100% on how well you understand which rule was actually broken. You're probably still operating under the mistaken assumption that taping defensive signals is against the rules.

No way. The fact is that Roger Goodell is the worst commissioner that the NFL has had in my lifetime. Excessive fining is only one of the issues. He can't seem to understand the product he has or why people enjoy it; this obsession with turning the league into a Disneyland attraction is bad for the game. Players, coaches, and commentators need to keep hitting this guy until he makes a major mistake and there's an opening to get rid of his @ss.

This type of stuff was what endeared me to Chad while he was in Cinci and I'm glad his personality hasn't become factory sealed and flaccid.

This is on a bigger level than just the Pats and BB being pissed at Chad over a tweet. IN the grand scheme, I could care less if Chad misses a couple snaps because of this. Goodell needs to be called out and it needs to be heard. He borders on dictatorship with the way he tries to intervene with the game. That's not what you're supposed to do as the commish. You're supposed to watch from afar and only make yourself heard with on field stuff when it's absolutely necessary.

I hate you Roger Goodell.
