It isn't about 'something to prove'. Dimwit media people aren't likely to stop and consider these nuances. This is about doing something you love doing + possessing a fiery competitive nature/spirit. Because of this February 2017 Brady could win the next SB too and he will likely come out the next season and ply his trade like a precision madman.
The moment Brady's fiery competitiveness and/or the love of the game ebbs (or, unfortunately, his body no longer will cooperate), that is the moment for Brady to call it a GOAT career and move onto something else he can feel passionate about.
This conversation is applicable to BB too. The Lombardi should be renamed the Belichick Trophy. Consider that he has HC'd 7 SBs but has been in the upper coaching tree of 3(?) other SBs. 60+ years old, what the hell does he have "left to prove"? The answer is nothing. This isn't about proving, this is about doing something you love and are passionate about as well as possessing that competitive fire. BB and TB are a match made in heaven in that respect.
Only recently have I started to slightly suspect that TB actually may outlast BB on the Patriots. My gut is telling me (maybe based on the sense BB's edges are softening) is this may be BB's last season.
