We all know that Roger Goodell is a flaming pile of excrement, so is anyone surprised? That being said, it's probably better for the Patriots overall if he isn't suspended. The Bengals are unlikely to make the playoffs but certainly have the ability to play spoiler. They still play the Bills, Steelers, and Ravens, so it's actually in the best interest of the Patriots that Burfict remains on the field...not that the ultimate result excuses the red headed Hitler from yet another embarrassing decision.

Imagine if it happens next week, after they watched the repeat offender deliberately stomp on a man and just fined him.

The NFL should have welcomed this opportunity to get a dangerous man off the field.

so the way I read this is:

1. video evidence is not as good as "more probable than not" evidence.
2. Repeat offense to intentionally injure other players is not as great a "crime" as "more probably than not" letting 1/2 a pound of air out of the football.

A model player who has been nothing but a class act during his entire career plays with footballs that were depressurized due to the Ideal Gas Law: 4 game suspension, million dollar fine, team loses a 1st and a 4th round draft picks
