Content Post N'Keal Harry (lack of) Progress Report

This has an opening post with good commentary and information, which we definitely recommend reading.

Harry was a monster blocking on running plays. He was nailing LB's and DB's on almost every play that gained yardage. He also came down the line to block at the LOS that sprung Rex on that swing TD pass. The Ravens were pissed but the block was legal block.

So he did not do anything as a receiver ( he was wide open a couple of times but Cam did not have the time to hit him), but his blocking was huge in the Ravens game. You don't have to believe me re-watch the game.
sounds like he would fit better as a TE than he does so far as WR, perhaps this might be the better spot for him, he could still catch passes but most probably would have LBs covering him instead of CBs

so we drafted a wideout in round 1 to block? In a historically great WR draft class

Pass protection would take a hit with him as a TE, but it would be a better move for him. It would get him isolated on LBs at best and the other teams #3 or 4 corners at worst.

Yeah, that’s a trash bag take as per usual. That’s why he’s a local yokel and doesn’t get a sniff on the national scene. Most of the people that have been the hardest on Harry on here have praised his run blocking last night. Him losing snaps to Meyers is a condemnation of Harry and an affirmation of Meyers. But God forbid you admit you’re wrong on Twitter.

He really is such a tool. "How dare fans question a first round draft pick of who is currently losing snaps to an UDFA because he blocks well".
The thing Chatham doesn't seem to understand is that while some of both Harry's & Meyers' route responsibilities are the same in any given passing formation, some of them are different too...and Harry's not doing anything with those opportunities either...Meyers runs Harry's routes better than he does, and Meyers runs routes that Harry doesn't run at all...Curious to see the impact - if any - that the arrival of Isaiah Ford has...Bill/Nick traded for him after all...

During the game, I saw Harry and Myers sitting together on the bench and they were obviously supporting each other. I am glad they have the right attitude, accepting their roles within the game plan and being supportive of the team. They were not looking at it as beating each other out of snaps. That is a positive team approach that will serve each of them well during their lives.
A truly special moment that just tugged at all our heartstrings.
I swear these two besties broke into a joyous rendition of Kumbaya
And then exchanged claddagh rings

The person's name is McDaniels. Basically only draft defense or OLine. Banish McDaniels from all draft evals or draft meetings.

This is painful but just one example of 15 other examples. Justin Jefferson is on pace to put up 1200 yards and 6 TDs in his rookie season after online covid shortened training camp.
Are you suggesting that Bill/Nick should've traded up to acquire him?

EDIT: Oops didn't see the other post...Never mind.

I was just pointing out what he did in Ravens game and it was an important contribution, without stats. I agree that he hasn't lived up to a 1st round pick at WR so far. He was considered the best available WR by most draft guides.
I remember reading one respected draft "expert" saying about Metcalf "looks like Tarzan but plays like Jane". Looks like he was wrong. The draft at WR is always a crap shoot.

umm not true. What draft guides are those you’re referring to?

“Team sources say that Harry is not real twitchy or explosive," it read. "They worry about how he’s not fast in and out of breaks and don’t see suddenness. Some sources said that Harry reminded them of Ole Miss wide out Laquon Treadwell, who is currently headed towards bust status wth the Vikings. Some other sources are saying they are grading Harry on the second day of the 2019 NFL Draft and feel he is a kin to Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Devin Funchess. One team source said they originally planned on grading Harry in Round 2, but were lowering him to the third round.”

I already addressed this as well...

If you are going to quote, you need to give the source of your quote.

Not true? I don't post things out of my butt. There were several draft guides that gave him a 1st round grade. I just don't look at one. I'm not going to go back 2 years to find them. I'm sure that others did not give him a first round grade. That is the nature of the pre-draft opinions.

There have been many, many WR's over the years, that have been given pre-draft high first round grades by teams and draft "experts" that turn into complete busts. That is why they are called prospects.

In addition, he's only got 31k followers. In other words, hardly anybody is reading his tweets. He will always praise BB for giving him a chance as he was a trash LB only able to survive based on special teams. You can't take a guy like him seriously.

You weren't pumped when BB traded down only to draft another f***ing DB they didn't need in the 2nd round from a D2 school?

He was considered the best available WR by most draft guides.
No he wasn't. Samuel and AJ Brown were the best available after Hollywood Brown and Metcalf. Harry was considered about 5th or 6th best available until about one or two days before the draft when he became the dreaded annual "draft riser" which the BB fell victim to.

However, because scouts believed teams were going to take many WR's in the 1st round, they still projected Harry as a late 1st-early 2nd round pick.

Aaaaand, we're back on the injury report (shoulder). Sigh...

Wow. Pats took him round 1? Should have been a 3rd rounder!
