Nice breakdown of Quarterbacks drafted by Belichick

Nick Foles is recent. I assume that is why he stated him. Foles did it in an era where the league went totally offense focused.
We all know why Noles Foles won that Super Bowl so just stop it already.

Joe Gibbs and Parcells won when defenses and not offenses won championships. Even teams that won with HOF QBs back then had elite defenses. Look at the 1985 Bears, 2000 Ravens, and 2002 Bucs. All those teams had mediocre at best QBs with all time great defenses.
I see a lot of quarterbacks winning Super Bowl MVPs in the 70's, 80's and 90's. I also just checked and 9 out of 10 Super Bowl winners in the 80's had top 10 offenses in points (5 were top 3). Oh, and this, 9 out of 10 Super Bowl winners in the 90's had top 3 offenses in points. Ouch.

Those defenses you singled out are arguably the greatest single season defenses of all-time. Which is what it took to win Super Bowls with Trent Dilfer and Brad Johnson. The '85 Bears were the greatest all round team in the history of the NFL.

Joe Gibbs was GD wizard so I don't care if the game had passed him by in the 2000's. And Parcells... how many franchises did that maniac turnaround?... 3, 4? Parcells is a Genius.

well, Brady was a game manager in 2001 and 2018, so BB is the only coach to win multiple super bowls with the same game managing QB…
Game manager? Did you see what Brady did in the snow bowl? Made Madden sound like a blithering fool. 3 consecutive gotta have it 3rd-10 conversions on the road in OT of an AFCCG... only one quarterback in the history of the league pulls that off.

Thanks for getting around to the 300-pound gorilla of game managers. That's all he was, the one-touchdown wonder of SB36, and everybody knew it. We even had constant fights with other fanbases about how the defense really carried him, how Peyton Manning is really better but just couldn't win a Super Bowl, etc. etc. etc.
Is this levity?

Look at his stats in 2001. He was not elite then. I don't care about a single game in the snow. And I'm pretty sure Mahomes could have pulled that off anything Brady did. In fact, if we had Mahomes for 20 years, we'd probably have won 8 super bowls, including going undefeated in 2007. No way the Giants beat us if Mahomes were our QB.

... the same quarterback who's 0-2 vs Brady in the two biggest games of his life? ...

Only because of Dee Ford being offsides...and in the SB Mahomes was playing on a foot that needed surgery as well as 3 missing offensive lineman. Mahomes is simply the better talent than Brady, who is purely dink and dunk. Can Brady win or tie up a game getting the ball with 13 seconds left? Didn't think so...

I don’t want to tread into the Brady Cult vs Brady Haters fight. But the score of the Snow Bowl was 16-13 and Brady was fortunate the tuck rule was a thing because everyone knows he had no intention of throwing that ball That Charles Woodson stripped from him.

And top 10 offenses are not elite. Top 3 are elite. Top 5 maybe. Top 10 is the top third of the league. Why not post where the defenses ranked in those decades? I know you didn’t included the 70s on the list since the Steel Curtin defense dominated that era. I know in the 90s, the Cowboys, 49ers, and Giants all had dominant defenses. In the 80s, you had the Raiders who won on defense. Obviously the Bears And Giants.

Again, up through the Patriots first dynasty run, the mantra of defenses win championships held true. The Pats don’t even get to the three Super Bowls they won if they didn’t have top defenses in the league those years (in 2001, they were great statistically, but they gave up the fewest points in the league the second half of the season that year). That’s the truth. That was A big reason why Brady went to Suoer Bowls and Manning had early exists from the playoffs usually after he got manhandled by the Patriots defense.

And like Gibbs and Parcells, Belichick was and probably still is a genius head coach. He implemented many things that changed the game from opponent specific game plans to finding loopholes in the rules to confuse and gain advantages that no one seemed to know existed and then people copied. I know you won’t give a Belichick any credit, but he was labeled a genius for a reason and he deserved it even if he may not be as much of one today.

Considering he's won under pretty much every conceivable circumstance... yes.

Only because of Dee Ford being offsides...and in the SB Mahomes was playing on a foot that needed surgery as well as 3 missing offensive lineman.
Dee Ford is your second most hated NFL player... odd for a Pats fan. Brady won a Super Bowl at age 43 with a torn MCL so spare me the excuses.

Mahomes is simply the better talent than Brady, who is purely dink and dunk.
Air Yards... total yards passes travel in the air before being caught... where Brady ranked over his last 5 seasons (after turning age 40)...

2021 1st
2020 2nd
2019 9th
2018 9th
2017 1st

You were saying?

The Bears ranked 2nd in points scored in 1985. Both Raiders championship teams in the 80's had offenses that ranked better than their defenses in points. I just showed you the numbers... 14 out of 20 Super Bowl winners in the 80's & 90's had top 3 offenses in points.

Pittsburgh in the 70's won with the 6th, 5th, 5th &1st ranked offenses.
Dallas and Miami both won twice in the 70's with the 1st, 1st, 5th & 2nd ranked offenses.
The remaining two teams... Baltimore and Oakland won with the 6th & 4th ranked offenses.

What more do you want?

9 times Manning was one-and-done in the postseason... that's 0-9... none of those losses were to the Patriots. Manning didn't go to or win as many Super Bowls as Brady because he was about 5% as clutch as Brady.

Lol dude, you sound just like a Colts fan.

LOL! Rather be a Colts fan than a Brady cultist. Seriously. I would. I am glad I am neither.
Knock yourself out dolt.

LOL okay now you're just trolling him
Here’s a list of QBs better than Brady:
This is where I am too. Just saying, game manager is just fine. That wasn't him after 01 but it sure was for that first super bowl. Point being you don't need a later-model Brady, an Elway, a Favre (may he rest in peace if he's actually dead), a Manning or a Brees. It doesn't hurt, but it's not a prerequisite, and you don't get a cookie for shouting "It is better to have the best quarterback!" If anybody knows, it's us.

Man I had no idea what spoiled ash hats we'd become during the Brady years. I mean, I thought it might be happening, but dang.

You want to know why Manning sucked in the playoffs and it wasn‘t all his fault? Because the Colts never cared about defense with Manning. They were content to win games like 35-28 during the regular season. The problem was defenses were allowed to play tougher in the playoffs and the Colts couldn’t score in the 30s anymore. Look at some of the Colts one and done losses. Gave up 162 yards to Eddie George. Let Lamar Smith rush for 209 yards. They gave up 28 points to the Chargers even after Philip Rivers went out and Billy Volek went in.

BTW, that trend continued with Andrew Luck.

And where are you getting these stats. And how are you measuring offenses and defenses? By yards? Or points?

Knock yourself out dolt.

Sorry to get your panties in a bunch starting the truth about the Snow Bowl. It was a great win, but the Pats were lucky there was a tuck rule because they would have lost otherwise. That is just the truth.

That's classic Dolts fan speak.

Are Kingsbury and O’Connell considered part of BB’s “coaching tree” when that’s being discussed? Or is the coaching tree just those who coached on his staff?
Those players are branches of the Ray Perkins coaching tree, just like Belichick and Tuna Crap.

The tuck rule was enforced dozens of times, before and after that correct call. It was only changed years later because of the constant whining by the Raiduhs.

Personally, I enjoy the fact that the Raiduhs and some fans (apparently you're one of them) think they got robbed.

Bill demands that QBs be able to function as game managers as the baseline. He was definitely ok with unleashing Brady once he learned how to be a difference maker. Simplistically it comes down to how aggressive can the QB be before giving up the ball. If you are a rookie, the team will limit risks, if you are prime TB12 you have the green light to sling it.
The thing that I believe made Tom and Bill such a great team was Brady's respect for authority. He was the perfect match for a HC like Bill. I doubt that many of the other top QBs would have been as subservient as Brady. I think the egotistical types, like Manning and Rodgers, would struggle with Bill's style.

I have to disagree with your take on Parcells. Every team he took over had a putrid record and high draft picks when he went there. They could only go up. The Kotite Jets may have been the most talented 1-15 team in history. Tuna was great at picking his spots and was smart enough to keep Belichick under wraps for as long as he could.

Huh? I said Manning had his fair share of choking. But it is fact that the Colts built their teams around Manning which meant a high powered offense with an average at best defense. The fact that they built their team this way is why they sucked in the playoffs.

Manning had more post season success with the Broncos because they believed in building a top defense to pair with a Manning run offense. In four years with the Broncos, he went to two Super Bowls and won one. And the one he won, he was a shell of himself with a noodle arm.
