NFL Wild Card: Lions at Saints

IT is a better OT idea, but Nazi RG won't go for it. He knows better than the players and coaches what is best for the league. The new OT rules and the attempt for an 18 game season. Yeah. Get this ******* out.

I agree 100%

BTW I just noticed the ball had not been recovered when the ball was not yet recovered. Overall it was a just a **** up.

Thats the Saints.

I agree 100%

When I lived in the upper midwest the fans seemed to love the idea of the new OT rules. But they were mostly Vikings fans who were pissed about losing that way to the Saints. They were probably only looking at it from the view of a heartbroken fan instead seeing the big picture.

The refs for this game. :bricks::bricks::bricks:

Brees makes them pay there.

that mcdonalds commercial is like a patriots staff poker game lol

People complain about the Pats' defense, but that is today's NFL. It is Madden Football.

How the H - E double hockey sticks do these Saints receivers get so open? The Lions really messed up not scoring on the Saints turnovers..

I'm not going to lie, a lot of these new rules/way of calling games is in our favor with the way our team is structured.
I think it's actually the other way around - BB saw the writing on the wall, realized he had an elite QB, and started building a roster that could win shootouts.

That said, I would MUCH rather see football go back to playing a balanced game, you know, where the defense actually had a chance at playing football. I think the bigger problem is that they still don't call things consistently. Half of the of unnecessary roughness calls are clean, hard hits. It's becoming the pansy league. The NBA on turf.
Agreed.

Detroit's defense is atrocious. Equally inept against the run and pass.

The Patriots are structured this way because Belichick saw the direction the league was going in. That's one of the amazing things about him, he completely changed his philosophy to an offensive one within a couple years and didn't miss a beat.

Yeah, I thought that was a given with us Pats fans, though I'm sure a lot of other fans/NFL people don't really realize it. I wasn't implying the team is just randomly the way it is, BB build around TB on purpose and the whole game planning is built on getting a lead and putting the pressure on the opposing QBs and forcing mistakes. Still, I'd rather have the league/team the way it was in the beginning of the decade.

Agreed.

BB knew that in today's NFL you have to score 30 plus a game to win the AFC because that is what it took to beat the Colts.

I actually watched the highlights for the game this morning and Vikings fans were complaining about not having the new OT rules.

Now THIS is the type of game I've been waiting to see for the playoffs.

Hope this stays close and Brees doesn't blow them out the water too fast.

WTF? The receiver just got his head chopped off and no call?
