And in the 1st quarter of that AFCCG, Talib got injured.

We had a great top of the roster by 2012, but not the depth. I think the 2016 team is criminally underrated in these parts, potentially due to the fact that they were down 28-3. The team lost Gronk early in the year and Brady missed 25% of the regular season, yet they still had the talent to get the #1 overall seed and win the whole thing. I think the 2016 team may have been the best Patriot team of all time.

Did Talib get injured or did he tap out? I still wonder.

The running backs in the passing game definitely helps the offensive production, but the Bucs are one dimensional. If they can shut down or at least slow down Brady and the passing game, the Bucs are in trouble. And we saw with the 2007 team that it is possible that a team that starts out extremely hot in the start of the season slows down a bit as the season goes along.

Then it’s good that they got a loss against a good team on the road out of the way early so that any fantasies of thinking they’re good enough to go 20-0 die and they don’t peak early.

Hospital ball? You do not really know what that is, do you?
Wes Welker explained it to me one afternoon. Then I fed him Jell-O

Edit: Just got off the phone with Tommy Sr.
I asked him if his son was throwing hospital balls today
He said: "Damn rights"

Yeah thats all teams. lol. Hey if we slow down what you do best we can win!!! Welcome to the NFL.

Arians said he’s fine.

I’m fine with saying the Bucs are weak in some areas. Looking at rushing yardage from running backs is typically one of the most non-predictive indicators of future performance. And, again, the offense is getting production from running backs a lot more in the passing game, which was a weakness last year.

I am not saying the Bucs are a bad team. I still think they are one of the best teams in the league. But their running game is definitely a concern. There will be games where Brady will be held to one or no passing TD and under 300 yards. And they are going to need to run the ball and get 150 plus yards on the ground. Right now, I am not sure they can.

Brady isn't going to throw for 300 plus yards every game.

Not seeing it though. Their running game is pretty average. They haven’t had many breakaway runs this year, nor a lot of rushing attempts in general. In short yardage, they’ve been fine. Their offensive line is solid, and they have Fournette and Jones, two guys who typically average over 4 ypc.

I just don’t see what you’re talking about, other than a small sample size. If you pointed out an actual downgrade in personnel, and injury, etc., I’d understand your point. It’s the same players from 2020 (plus Bernard.). The team has passed like crazy because they’ve now been in three shootouts and have a glut of pass catchers.

4 minutes into the GB/SF game & Rodgers already has the same amount of receptions as Jonnu had today haha.

Bucs are a passing team, they passing game is way better than their run game. Who are these teams that have this top of the line run and pass game that you are seeing out there?

Again, there are going to be games where the Bucs are going to need their running backs to run for 150 yards or more to win. I am not sure they can right now. They haven't shown they can at this point. Their team average per carry is crap too.

They could fix their running problems, but to say it isn't a concern is stupid when they aren't able to run the ball at all in any game this season.

This. They have had to pass to stay in games because the D has been hurt in the secondary.

Why do you keep saying that? lol This is not a 150 yard running kind of team. They were 28th in rushing last year.

The Bucs are on pace for one of the worst running game in NFL history. Right now there are 31 teams that have a better running game than the Bucs. I never said they need a top of the line running game. I am saying they have a historically bad running game thus far.

Let me explain what borg means: he swallows a ball and goes to the hospital ER to get anally probed. He's been doing it for years.

Why do you keep saying that? lol This is not a 150 yard running kind of team.

Psst! They ran for over 150 yards multiple times last year. In the Super Bowl, they ran for 145 yards. Against Carolina, Jones ran for 192 yards alone (210 rushing yards total). In the win against Green Bay in the regular season, they ran for 158 yards.

Not only do you need balance. You need to be able to run to run out a clock and protect a lead. You don't want to be throwing the football with five minutes left trying to run out the clock and protect a lead.

Then you aren't watching the games. The running games was non-existent. The Bucs had 35 yards today with Tom Brady being the leading rusher with 14 total rushing yards. You call that average?

In week one, they rushed for 52 yards and 2.7 YPC. How was that average.

Yes, the sample size is small, but right now their running game is historically bad. It could change over the next few weeks, but until it does, it is a concern.

Bucs are a passing team. They will live and die on their passing game.

Yes, but passing teams still need a running game. It doesn't have to be a top ten running game, but it cannot be a historically bad one. There will be games this year the Bucs will need to win by running the ball.

If they are averaging under 3 YPC and 56 yards a game. How are they going to protect a lead and run out the clock late in the game. You don't keep passing when you are up by two scores with five minutes left in the game. You gotta be able to run and pick up a few first downs on the ground. Right now, the Bucs haven't been able to do that.

I don't want to list all the teams that I support in various sports that all lost this weekend, but it was brutal sports routing weekend for me, when this happens, the next week is filled with bliss!
Harry, our savior is back!
