Woke up & checked last night’s score. Sure fire, prodigal son, infallible Herbert lost ?!? Can’t be. Zero points second half ? Was he out 1/2 the game ? I refuse to believe 100% excellent Herbert didn’t get the job done.

both starting tackles out, slater is their best offense linemen, williams and allen as WR out, this against the 49ers defense, lost one score game

Just a reminder that Justin Jefferson was taken one pick ahead of Kyle Dugger...

He was never a coach in NE...

To date, not a single one of Belichick's assistants has been successful elsewhere as an HC
Unlike the West Coast Offense tree BB is not a system coach which makes his model hard to replicate. He is part brilliant tactician who changes game plans to match the competition, part disciplinarian and part Yoda when players need a softer touch. Most of the epic failures try too hard to emulate the discipline part and quickly lose the locker room. Brian Flores was pretty successful in Miami before he had his issues with ownership. Based on some of the stories that emerged from the fallout, he had started to wear on the players.

Just like TB12, there will never be another BB.

GOAT coach right there. Can't say he was carried by assistants given they don't have much success other than knowing how to win games against Pats teams because they were in the room with Belichick.

35- 27 (.564) in NE with Matt Cassel, Jacoby Brissett, Jimmy Garoppolo, (the football career corpse of) Cam Newton, Brian Hoyer, Mac Jones and Bailey Zappe as his QBs. Take out the Scam Netwon rebuild covid year 28-18 (.608) and probably should have 2 more wins this year, Ravens & Packers should have been wins but Jones & Agholor gave the Ravens the game and he had to put a rookie QB who was taking 3rd string reps for weeks in the 2nd drive of the Packers game.

Well Dugger was taken in the top of the 2nd. Pats traded out after Jefferson was taken. Also there was 1 trade up in that draft which was Tampa switching #14 for #13 with the 49ers before Pats and Chargers made a trade. Meaning teams weren't trading out. Jefferson and Pats had pre-draft contact.

Very reminiscent of the 2013 draft when DeAndre Hopkins went off the board and they traded out.

He was taken 21 overall.

Dugger was taken 37 overall.

One pick, eh?

You're right. But the Pats had the 22nd overall pick. So the point stands - Jefferson was within NE's grasp. All Bill had to do was get a little aggressive and trade up. But we have to hold onto those valuable 4th round picks...

Should have traded up. Teams that get complacent get burned. KC got super aggressive and traded up for Mahomes and it changed everything for them.

Dugger is arguably our best safety, and maybe the second most important defensive player on the team after Judon. I'd get it if we ended up with a Ras-I Dowling instead of Jefferson, but it's weird to complain about this one.

Let's see what's better - a guy that is "arguable our best safety" or the "best WR in the NFL” in an offensive oriented league...hmmm

That and there was a mention yesterday during the Vikes/Bills broadcast that KO'C learned a lot of crap from BB.

People will say playing for BB does not count as part of a coaching tree. People will say coaching under a head coach from BB's coaching tree does not count. People will say that coaching under other coaches more than under BB means it is not part of BB coaching tree.

Vrabel - Titans
O'Connell - Vikings
Daboll - Giants

As per the above message I read that things are not going well in the Raiders locker room ala Derek Carr et al.
Carr was crying at his presser.

Didn't some guy named Saben coach under BB?

The beyond ridiculous offensive system that Skippy runs only works with TFB as the QB. See Raiders. See Broncos. See Skippy losing another locker room and another job. The fans here in Denver STILL hate him with the fury of 1000 suns.

I am looking forward to the Pats v Vikings game and how BB schemes against that offence.....even with Kirk Cousins !!
