Patriots success may be working against them too. What GM is going to want to help make them better?

I imagine conversations going like this:

Pat’s GM: is <insert player name> available?
Other GM: let me check. I’ll get back to you.
[permanent radio silence ensues]
But the Eagles success is working for them??? Hahaha wrong. I can see the Titans and our AFCE teams not wanting to trade with the Pats, but the rest of the league's GMs are not conspiring against the Pats. This is stupid. The Pats view this team as a year 1 of a rebuild. They are committed to the plan in place. If trades fit in, great. If they don't, oh well. It has nothing to do with anyone working against us. Just stop it.

And the knowledge that they will likely turn out better than the 5 Jets 1st rounders in 2026-2027.

Funny thing is, if the season goes the way they want...the picks will be at the end of each round. Guess they think that those picks with be worth more than a current player.

Well at least Mike Vrabel's Draft Days are fun and not boring like that other guy's.

I’d rather do that than pay the insane prices we are hearing.

The Jaguars traded two firsts last year to the Browns and now their 4th and 6th.

The Colts traded two 1sts and a recent 2nd round pick.

I’d rather do what the Pats are doing.
The Patriots are right on the doorstep of being a challenger for the AFC East and AFC Championship for the next several years. They should not trade away 1st or 2nd round draft picks under any circumstances, and they should be frugal with the cap money they have to keep the core of this team together with their coaching staff. If they could get starter for a 3rd or 4th rounder today, they should be sure the player is a good fit with some upside for further development. As fans, we should be pleased to make the playoffs this year. 11 wins is a very real probability at this point, especially with the Jets having a fire sale today. That's a huge leap from 4-13, and better than most of us imagined.

Off topic, but I am delighted to see Jacoby Brissett and Mac Jones having success out west.

So the Pats were technically sellers. Kind of interesting.
