BTW, there are 8 safeties on the list, and none of them are named McCourty, so can we finally end the "he is one of the best safeties in the NFL"" BS!. He is of course, one of the highest paid but no where close to being a top safety.

He is not on that list but he's more than just stats and ranks. He is the heart of this defense and I have feelings he is so trustworthy and he is a real Patriot.

If he is the heart of the defense that gave up 41 points, 538 total yards, 373 yards passing all to a back up QB, then the defense needs a heart transplant!! STAT!!

C'mon. You simplified it. He had not influence on for instance Rowe's mistakes, benching Butler or Richards presence on the field. If you desire a top 5 safety ,just skip the salary cap an take him. It is a bit unfair to put the blame on DMacs for SB result.

Especially when he had to be misused close to the LOS on quite a few snaps due to the fact that benching Butler handicapped the coaching staff and what they could do on that side of the ball.

Its awesome that most players have a huge amount of respect for Brady and acknowledge him as the greatest ever
I remember inbred Colts fans on their board being overjoyed with the idea that Deflategate would tarnish Brady's legacy forever, but its pretty clear that is not the case and even the media has come around quite a bit
Its not just fans of Brady that will miss him when hes gone, there are countless others that love to hate him and hating him brings them lots of attention/clicks/etc.. nobody else in the league can generate that tornado of emotions quite like Brady and the Patriots
I think (or hope?) that the media will give him the proper ball washing when he does in fact retire... there is certainly some resentment towards their success and his pretty boy image, but when he finally hangs them up they'll be relieved that he'll no longer be eliminating their favorite teams from the post season on a regular basis and give him a proper send off
