BTW my system would be this. If we were doing just 1 HOF and not worried about FB.

You let in 50 people today.

Then you allow in 1 offensive and 1 defensive player in per year.

Every 5th year you allow in a 3rd player who can be a coach/STers/offensive or defensive player ONLY if someone is around who is worthy you don't need to allow that 3rd person in.

This would allow you to honor players on either side of the ball who slip through the cracks or allow in an exceptional STer like Adam V or coach like BB for instance.

Also it would help be sure there is balance in the kind of players you allow.

Personally I think 2 a year from now on should be plenty. I would also like to make sure OL players are honored as well as they too often get ignored but idk how i would work that out and I would like to be sure we don't allow in too many QBs. You might need to set up something for that as well cause of the bias to get QBs in.

Seems every instance as an example of whatever, he says he played well.

With as many killer interceptions he threw, the odds suggest he would not have played well at least once.

It depends. How many people are you allowing in? How would your system work. Depending on that i might agree or disagree with that.

I'm not sure. Would need some input from others. I would say start with contemporaries and how they stack up to each other. For instance, Manning/Brady. Brady is obviously the no brainer. Then take them and weigh against current Hall Players. I'd even say the only people who get the vote are Hall Members but maybe friendships would taint that.
