It used to be you could turn off the VPN once the stream started but when I tried that last week it knocked me off so I kept the VPN on the entire time.

Yeah last year's update broke that for me. Shame too, that was nice. Luckily ExpressVPN is fast enough that I generally don't even notice that it is on.

They don't care beyond showing a good faith effort to maintain their TV contracts. They know that 'loopholes' or whatever you want to call this allow them some nominal amount of additional income from however many hundreds or thousands of us that do this there are.
