Can't tell if it's good or bad that the Chiefs aren't in the first four games. 2014 and 2017 were disasters but they went to the super bowl. Won't mention 2008 (oops).

More time for BB to get tape on Mahomes? I'll take it.

What, no At Denver this year? I guess denver sucks so bad they felt it wouldn't be a contest.
There's zero discretion in who NE plays and zero discretion in where they play. 6 are division games, 8 are set by strict rotation, and 2 are set by where NE and the other teams finished last year. And the home vs. away for the non-division games is also on rotation. Only discretion is in times and dates of games.

It’s been a long time since we didn’t face Denver.

good teams get good schedules

published schedules make the season closer

matty p should be @ foxboro

As I predicted, CBS blocked Pats at Steelers (like they always do) and Pats at Jags and Fox blocked the Vikings at Pats (potential Super Bowl match up). SMH. By the way, having Jags at Pats game the 2nd week of the season is ridiculous. That should be a prime time mid season game assuming Jacksonville will be another playoff contender (maybe the NFL thinks they are a fluke). Why does the NFL continue to blow it's load so early in the season and then have nothing to flex later on? And they continue to scratch their heads as to why ratings are down.

And the match ups the Pats have for prime time are pathetic besides the Packers Pats match up which would've been criminal if that was another damn Fox 4:15 kickoff which f***ing Joe Buck. How many times do they have to play the Chiefs in prime time? And the Bills?

Colts play 3 teams coming off a bye. Wash,Cinn,Saint,Minn,Dallas Miami,Det,Jax all face 2 teams coming off a by. Clev,NYG,Balt,Sea,Tenn,SF,Rams,Chi,KC,TB,Atl all face 1 team coming off a bye. Jets and Pats face each other coming off bye.

I don't know if anyone pointed this out - and I don't know if it is an error - but I am seeing something in this schedule the NFL has never done before: Flex Scheduling with dates.

We all know that any Sunday game can get moved around to another time slot on the same day. But if you look at Giants-Colts you see it is dated "December 22 or December 23". Titans-Redskins is the same. Maybe the league is planning to grab 1 (but only 1) of those 2 games and move it to the 22nd?

I looked at this slime covered schedule and I disliked it from first sight.

Goodell has outdone himself

My crew probably going Chi and Nashville.

Because you have no idea which teams will be relevant come November/December. All it takes are injuries to the wrong players and teams turn from playoff bound to a top 10 draft slot.

Anything that looks like a marquee matchup at the end of April can become the toilet bowl pretty quickly.

I’d say the schedule is favorable. The first two games should be slugfests right out of the gates, but there’s not really a 3 or 4 game stretch where they face a murderer’s row of opponents. The closest to it would be Packers, Tits, Jets, Vikings, but they get the two toughest games in the bunch at home.

If you want to see a tough schedule (at least based on 2017 results), go look at the Jaguars’. I looked that bad boy up when I was scouting tickets for the Pats coming to town. They go through a stretch of Queefs, Cowboys, Texans, Eagles, Colts, Steelers.

I like Texans for the game 1 matchup. Watson will have missed a year of football and so will be knocking off a lot of rust.

Definitely better than when we played the Texans early last year and no one knew what Watson was capable of.

No matter how much rust we at least know what we are getting into.

Agree.

At first glance the schedule looks favorable but I'm not picking wins and losses until Labor Day.

Considering how Bill tends to play mobile QBs, I think it will still be a struggle. The usual zone concepts will be employed that should leave Watson’s targets wide open. There will probably be quite a few conversions on third and long.

Considering how Bill tends to play mobile QBs,

And early season vanilla defensive schema especially in the secondary as you mentioned will drive many wild with the usual exclamations of "why aren't we blitzing 11 every down!?"
