Kraft said, “That any person who plays 20 years for this team and helps us get to six Super Bowls,
and been really selfless, has earned that right. (...) Anyone who’s done that
has earned the right to control his future after 20 years. And you know, my hope and prayer is number one, he play for the Patriots. Or number two, he retires.”
How magnanimous of Kraft to believe that only after 20 years of sacrifices, Brady has earned the right to control his future, but only if he comes back (@discount) or retires.
I wonder if anyone realizes that part of the team's success was Brady signing team-friendly contracts. Brady's deals also influenced other players to do the same. What do you think happens to that "team friendly" culture when the #1 team friendly guy bails over a few million?
