Haven’t we learned a lock down is nothing more than a pause? Locking down doesn’t kill the virus, it only slows down the spread. Once you go back to normal you haven’t changed anything other than the date of the spread.

Can you explain real quick how it would be more profitable for the NFL to play in a bubble? Not saying that I agree or disagree just yet. I just can’t wrap my mind around it and figure out what exactly how. Even with the hypothetical Super Bowl situation you floated.

The thought process seems to be extending the isolation time of the players away from the facilities and ensuring the negative results are really negative. The only problem is, as PFT points out, given the timeframe in relation to the holiday, one example shows that the timing of the test results didn't help with the recent outbreak in Baltimore:

"Players who have caught COVID-19 from out-of-town guests could be shedding virus on Sunday, with a positive sample given Sunday morning not being tested and returned until after the game. That’s one of the factors that contributed to the outbreak in Baltimore."

So this latest move is hopefully reducing the impact heading into next week and being able to potentially keep positive players from causing a larger outbreak. Whether or not it works is the big question, but it obviously remains a challenge heading into the end of the season.

It's a completely moot move that will accomplish absolutely nothing. It's just a PR stunt.

There's just too many variables out of the NFL's control for this to even work in any way. And if the NFL really cared, they would have cancelled all games tomorrow and push the season ahead one week to try and stay on top of the Thanksgiving surge.

Idiots. Europe had the spike, went in complete lockdown numbers looked great all summer and now are having huge surges. Northern Us initial surge, lockdown, numbers way down all summer, huge surge in fall. Southern us and California no initial surge numbers great. California is the way to go, boom extreme heat hits, huge surge still going on. Sweden no lockdown, now better numbers than the us and almost all European countries.

most football players don’t even know they have it. Less dangerous to under 30’s than the flu. Same danger as the flu to under 60’s. Protect the elderly and let everyone else get on with life, it will be over much faster.

The temperature doesn’t effect the virus, it is the fact we are all cooped up inside that makes transmission much more likely. You are most likely to catch it from your family you live with. When you are all inside breathing the same air for hours and hours without wearing a mask you will most likely catch it.
