NFL: No Violation by Favre; $50k fine

If she sues, I'd love to know what her damages could be since it's been two years since she saw a cell phone vid of Favre playing with his wanker. If there was physical injury the two year wait would make sense.

If she claimed she was driven from her job, her salary and possible punitive damages.

I believe the threat of lawsuit, specifically the possbility of putting pictures of Willie on the screen to be met by the howls of laughter of 12 jurors, was the endgame. It is doubtful any juror could find that picture to be intimidating, thus there was little possibility of success. If anything, Favre might win a counterclaim for intentional/negligent infliction of emotional distress for the 'ROFL' Sterger sent as a reply to his picture.

I understood that Sterger was a contractor working for the JETS. If I understood correctly then employment laws and rules do not apply. Like Letterman sleeping with the girls from his show - Letterman is a contractor not an employee so he can sleep with the employees. Subtle difference but a huge difference in the legal world.

She could say that every time she sees a penis, she thinks of Favre. That could win the sympathy of any jury.

Farve always like to move out of the pocket.

Sexual Harassment of Independent Contractor Can Violate New Jersey Law Against Discrimination - New Jersey Employment Lawyer Blog

Check out this link where an IC in New Jersey (where Jets play) was allowed to sue for sexual harassment.
Are there any employment lawyers on the board????

This thread has been truly enlightening. I didn't know that so many on this message board have clearly never held a job (paper routes don't count).

But in that case she'd be admitting to pedophilia.

The fact that it took them MONTHS to get this issue sorted out tells me that Goodell is doing just what the NBA did with Michael Jordan. They are trying to save face for one of their "best" players.

It's absolutely BS. If anyone of us did to Sterger what Favre did, we'd have been fired and would be facing a lawsuit for sexual harassment. For Goodell to say that Favre didn't violate league policy is total BS. I am fairly certain that sexual harassment has been against league policy since the Lisa Olsen incident..

What a friggin joke Goodell is.. I hope the hell the owners fire his ***** over this..

I think the difficultly in proving the photos came from his phone is that the NFL never tried to trace them. This has been a cover up all the way.

Well, I guess the NFL would have to go really official then and use the courts to try and get an order (via sub-peona) that would force the cell phone carrier to disclose all incoming and outgoing call details. I'm sure that info is sitting somewhere on an AT&T or Verizon or other server. I'm pretty sure these guys keep "archives" going back years.
