NFL investigating Saints for placing bounties on players(merged X2)

In heard that in 2009 and 2010, Belichick also put a bounty on opposing QBs with our OLBs

But it wasn't an expensive deal for Bill to pay anything since they never got close enough to cash in so there was no punishment by the league

It's like I said earlier. Some players will defend this because they engaged in similar actions but not something like spy gate because they have no freakin idea what their coaches are doing behind the scenes.

Co-Sign....

I love this stuff. I think the Pats should put a bounty on the head of one man pats wrecking crew, Bernard Pollard. :rocker:

So… i guess it turns out, they aren’t saints…

That wasn't really dirty though, two players got to him at the same time. It was borderline.

Close though. Given the history of the viciousness of the hits by former Gregg William players, it's not that hard to draw a conclusion.

I also read that Manning said Daniels wouldn't let go of his head, which, yeah. That tips it for me.

Andre Carter (43 rde in the clip) went low but doesn't look like a cheap hit.

So I made the mistake of clicking on the Clayton link above, the one about how this is worse than Spygate. That idiot actually said Goodell didn't punish us enough???

I agree obviously that this is worse than Spygate, but in my opinion, it's so obvious it doesn't need a whole blog post. Of course this is worse, are you kidding???

Yes, because Pats Fan is completely unbiased.. so unbiased that most members have convinced themselves that spygate isn't a big deal.

That's because the camera being in the wrong location without NFL permission is NOT a big deal. That is what you fail to understand. Like you have failed to understand many things and have had to have them pointed out to you. Yet, in all your ignorance, you continue to pound your chest and claim that you know the truth and that everyone else doesn't..

I am a Patriots fan. I just enjoy being objective and intelligent in my analysis of the team. I apologize if that offends you, perhaps you should look into some prescription drugs for your anger issues.

The next time you are "objective and intelligent in your analysis" of the Patriots will be the first. Seriously, you've been taken to task by numerous people over your ignorance of this team. Your claim to be a fan is a running joke among the people on this board..

Haha, I'm not allowed to dislike a reciever that chokes on the biggest stage? And as for Dues, I don't think we could be friends. The guy loves trying to troll me, on DI and his shtick JackBauer. He has way too much time on his hands with two usernames with over 5k posts.

*ROFLMAO* You aren't worth stalking, though I find it funny you make the same BS accusation of anyone who replies to you, regardless of whether or not they were a part of a thread before you posted your stupidity.

Also, I can guarantee you that Deus Irae and JackBauer are NOT one and the same person. In fact, they don't care for one another, generally.

Your comments are that of a fool who doesn't understand the game beyond the absolute basics. You have no understanding of the athletic ability it takes on either end of a pass and just how hard it is to try and catch the pass that Welker did.

I don't believe there is a salary cap violation because the money was provided by the players themselves and not by the team.

That being said, I expect Payton and Loomis to be fined significantly. I expect Williams to be suspended from the league indefinitely. I expect the players to get fines and suspensions.

As for the Saints, I wouldn't be surprised if they lost the franchise tag this year, a 1st round pick next year and a 1st round pick the year after.

Kind of a strange, riding the fence, flip flopping opinion by (surprise) bspn's John Clayton.

To summarize so that you don't have to give him a click, first he says that "no one got hurt except teams that lost close games"; in my opinion he is implying that the Patriots absolutely without a doubt won games that they would not have otherwise won - including their three Super Bowls.

However he then goes on to say that brokering hits to cause damage is worse, and therefore the penalty will be more severe; he speculates a 2nd or 3rd round pick this year plus next year's first will be forfeited.

This is when his column gets twisted. First he says that he thinks Williams could be suspended for "a couple of games"; then he goes on to say that he thinks Goodell acted too swiftly in 2007 and Belichick should have been suspended for more than that four years ago.

Wait, let me try to follow this logic: Clayton thinks what the Saints did was worse, but thinks the suspension handed down to the Pats should have been for a longer period of time? Huh?

Here's what I forecast: bspn and the rest of the sports media world remember what a field day 2007-08 was for ratings, revenues and web hits with the video taping incident; it was a financial bonanza from which they reaped rewards with new speculation and innuendo on a daily basis for nine full months. For them it was liking a winning lottery ticket, and lo and behold they've stumbled across yet another winning lottery ticket.

My concern is that instead of this event making the filming incident look not so bad, all the unsubstantiated rumors will be rehashed, and all the incorrect comments that have been repeated so often they are now accepted as being factually correct will be revisited once again. ***gate was a once in a lifetime revenue bonanza for the sports media world, but the problem is that the Pats are the villians and the Saints are, well, saints. Quick easy answer? Pander to your audience with more Pats bashing, rather than pointing out how badly Goodell overreacted four years ago.

Again, what are they going to do to anyone, including players?

What can they do to their own players? It's a UNION. They can do all sorts of things like, oh, kick you out.

lol it blows my mind how John Clayton has ever won any awards. Please do us all a favor and don't read him anymore. He's the most contradicting writer I've ever seen in my life. Heck, he even contradicts himself two or more times in most of his articles.
