It's easy, and only takes a few moments. But it also probably eliminates a landing spot for Bill if he is traded/fired.Jones being back with the team is pretty drastic... perhaps enough to cost them all their jobs.
Biggest news drops a QB to us and and this is also now where Harrison JR goes. But it also probably eliminates a landing spot for Bill if he is traded/fired.
Dunno. They just said Daniel Jones would be with the team, not that they wouldn't draft another QB.Biggest news drops a QB to us and and this is also now where Harrison JR goes.
We should definitely pick up some players as long as the choices are right, which isn't always the case with the draft, even at the top. It's awfully hard to project the success for players and it's why I like the approach of having more picks. If the odds are 50/50 on picks and we have 12 to another team's 8, then we get 6 players and they get 4, at least in theory. We'd also get the first look at those players no matter what round they came from.I understand and mostly agree. My point is we’ve never been close to having the 7th pick, even when we picked Mac. There’s a reason bad teams turn things around with high picks. The question is if there’s a Josh Allen or better in this year’s draft because we’re finally going to have a high enough pick to get him.
Yep, all good points. I think some people mistake the top of the draft for being 100% sure things and they clearly are not.We should definitely pick up some players as long as the choices are right, which isn't always the case with the draft, even at the top. Watson done for season.
I think we need to hit on 2 QBs unless we find another some other way. We have none that I know of now.Yep, all good points. I think some people mistake the top of the draft for being 100% sure things and they clearly are not.
Your point about more picks is very apt. It's why I like the argument that it's not that the Steelers are so much better at picking WRs than us, they just pick a whole lot more of them and eventually hit on good ones.
That said, I really hope we hit on whoever we pick at QB high this year.
Well, I think we need our Alex Smith vet QB and a rookie. If the rookie hits, then start drafting his backup?I think we need to hit on 2 QBs unless we find another some other way. We have none that I know of now.
Another day, another running of the mouth...
I don't think Gronk roots for our team anymore. Doesn't sound like it. Maybe he's a Bills fan since he's from the area.Gronk is definitely not happy with the way things ended here for him. And he's not alone. Amendola feels the same way. However, something is obviously wrong with this team.
What do you think of Cousins? I hear a lot of negative things about him but I think he's pretty good and can have very good games. He doesn't seem to need much time to throw like other QBs.Well, I think we need our Alex Smith vet QB and a rookie. If the rookie hits, then start drafting his backup?
I lived in the DC area for the Cousins and RGIII double draft and that didn't really play out so great.
Gronk is bitter. There's no doubt about it. If Brady is he's keeping it to himself. Brady was always good at telling us nothing but making it sound interesting though, so he could also be unhappy.I don't think Gronk roots for our team anymore. Doesn't sound like it. I think Brady does though.
I think Cousins is good enough to improve your team but not enough to get you too far in the hunt. There's a reason Washington never committed to him. I'd be happy to get him as the Alex Smith until we figure out drafting a QB. But I don't want Cousins as the final answer on QB. But, to be honest, al the news from there sounds like he's going to resign with the Vikes. What do you think of Cousins? One of the things that sticks out to me about Ainge the player is when he broke down in his presser after the Celts traded him. He was crushed that he was leaving. Which btw was the same reaction that Gerald Henderson had when he was traded. He could barely speak he was so broken up. Those guys were true Celtics.Same with Ainge & Jayson Tatum, though Ainge didn't receive nearly the return that Red did.
Maybe, but I'd still break the existing speed record to go get him and bring him here. The Pats don't have a QB.Russ still kinda sucks.
Agreed, the Vikings had a really good offensive line, they had great weapons in Jefferson, Hockenson and Addison. Their defense has been pretty middling this season, but not outright bad... Cousins tends to shrink in big moments, we can find better and cheaper in the draft.I think Cousins is good enough to improve your team but not enough to get you too far in the hunt. It doesn't have to be somebody as expensive as Cousins, but I think a vet gives the rookie someone they have to beat out to win the job and a vet presence for them to get advice from or for the team to turn to in a pinch.Agreed, the Vikings had a really good offensive line, they had great weapons in Jefferson, Hockenson and Addison. I don't want a free agent QB, not only are they expensive but a great rookie QB is a cheat code. You have the kid locked up on a cheap team friendly deal for the next 4-5 years, where you can spend a lot of money on the team around him.
They'll need a bridge guy to acclimate a rookie QB for sure, but that guy could simply be there for camp like Brian Hoyer. I think they should play Zappe or Grier the rest of the way and bring one of them back as a bridge guy, the better of the two. That way once the rookie QB is ready, the team won't necessarily be in a big hole and the playoffs might still be in striking distance. Ideally the rookie will be ready to start day one.It doesn't have to be somebody as expensive as Cousins, but I think a vet gives the rookie someone they have to beat out to win the job and a vet presence for them to get advice from or for the team to turn to in a pinch.
Yeah, I figure it'll be someone, but I don't know who the Hoyer equivalent is now. They'll need a bridge guy to acclimate a rookie QB for sure, but that guy could simply be there for camp like Brian Hoyer.
