Once I saw the "Spygate 2.0" tape this weekend -- it was so minor -- I couldn't help but think I've seen similar, if not worse, sideline camera shots in the All 22. See below.

The Chicago Bears came to mind right away; the sideline camera angle in all their home games points directly at the opposing sideline. That's probably the most blatant I've seen; it's in all their games (I first noticed this when trying to see how teams beat the Rams before last year's Super Bowl).

The Medowlands was another I thought of; both Jets and Giants games have the scoreboard camera pointed at the sideline. Most games aren't that bad when it comes to zooming in, but I found one (vs Buffalo, wk 3 2013). Dig through their tapes, you'll see more.

If anyone else wants to dig through the All 22; I know I've seen way more from other teams, too. It's not often, but I know I've seen (personnel?) signals getting sent sent out on the All 22 more than once (if the camera shot doesn't cut away too quick). Every time I see such an shot/angle, I can't help but think how overblown spygate was; these cameras can pick up anything in the entire stadium.

This is a great point and very reasonable, and will definitely not be taken into account by anyone who’s not a Patriots fan or otherwise paying close attention to this situation.

But seriously, this is really useful and speaks to how incredibly absurd these allegations are.

It was a production company under the team umbrella that had produced a number of pieces about Patriots employees to date, requested credentials from the home team to film, sat directly in front of the visiting team while wearing Patriots gear, filmed the sidelines of the 1-win visiting team in an era where all communication is done by radio, and today multiple anecdotes (including the OP)have surfaced that sideline video of NFL game is widely available to anyone who wants it.

OF COURSE the Patriots weren’t doing this to gain an advantage. How deranged and unwilling to listen to reason do you have to be to actually believe that? Especially considering that they already were penalized for doing this once, which irrevocably damaged their reputation.

The team explanation is exactly what happened, and in seeing the public reaction I become somewhat despondent when I consider society’s ability to perform basic critical thinking skills.

This is the second stupidest “scandal”ever. We can only hope (a) the haters believe it, and watching the Pats win is like drinking drain-o, and (b) Brady re-ups and pain for the 31 continues.

Draft picks...who gives a crap? A coach/GM equivalent to Magnus Carlsen can play a pawn short and still beat 31 amateurs in five moves.

I wonder how many coaches now realize that that could scout the other teams coaches by watching the NFL authorized all 22 tape? How many are smart enough to figure that out! Me thinks only 1 and for that they will fine the team. Morons all.

Hey, if your Marketing Department can get scouting footage why do you need a scouting department?

To me audio is the key. Is there any audio of people talking abt plays etc.

There just aren't many signals anymore & you can see all that from the A22 or even some broadcast that's lucky enough to catch it.

Imo it will be more then obvious what our intent was from watching w/e footage there is".

We spied the backside of the Bungles sideline in order to telepathically manipulate Dalton into throw 4 INT's, by mindlessly targeting Gilmore, our best cover corner.

Never underestimate what spying on the backs of a team does to the mindset of their QB. There are considerable psychological ramifications involved here. The possibilities are unlimited.

Somebody should send this to Mike Florio.

With regards to Chicago, I think the reason why it looks closer to the field is because of how that stadium was built, so it appears to be more of a zoomed in angle. They have this first tier mini deck that is actually really cool, almost like an English Premier League Soccer stadium. The press box and suites are actually up higher above the regular fan seats, which also helps keeps noise down towards field level.

But, yeah, this actually shows the front side of the Rams sideline.

Quite frankly, I think this is how the Pats battle Goodell. Start exposing the hypocrisy and the generated paranoia that Goodell caused with his lying in Framegate I.

The Ravens have cameras everywhere and showcase a 360 look. I honestly had no idea that was legal, as I thought teams just had end zone access for the 22 tape and that was it.

But, of course, Whinebaugh essentially runs the league now, so he can do whatever he wants, that slimy little puke.

If Goodell was just honest and clear with the NFL customer, this wouldn't be a thing right now. Way too many fans don't even know why he was hired out of the woodwork during the successful Tagliabue Era.

And, I refuse to take on this stupid Puritan Guilt crap that some fans are doing. We're the victims here. This franchise has been under attack on annual basis since Goodell came into the league, and that's the dirtiest secret of it all.

We all know why.

Go back and look at the rule changes and the rates of changes pre-Goodell and compare it to how many rules are changed, and then think about it WHY those rules may get changed and what our team is really great at, year to year. Then look at how runs the Competition Committee.

There's a video on You Tube of BB at the Comp. Committee making a really great point in front of the entire league, and Bruce Allen is up front just looking down and laughing, likely because he knows BB is wasting his time, with no one really even caring or listening, because it is BB.

Kraft has got to return fire and stand his ground. It's nauseating and tiresome, while the media just sits there and perpetuates lie after lie after lie.

By hiding the truth, Goodell framed NE in 2007 by making it seem any in-game footage was done only by them, and then you have all these idiot fans who don't know rules and run their mouths because Goodell feels suppported by these same idiots.

Honest, more educated fans know this is complete garbage.

There 's a reason why Goodell paints a picture of a sinister tone and lets't the media shape public opinion, but he and Woody Johnson started this.

Even Manboobs would admit to it.

Fine Kraft for the simple, meaningless mistake and move on already.

You can tell the audio has been manipulated/edited down to fit into the clip. We haven't even heard the other parts of the exchange.

And, the audio is not the key to me at all. An underling trying to appease an authority figure, especially for someone that age, is not unusual at all. It shows nothing, because they already identified themselves in the press box with people standing right there.

Folks, this is nothing new. From Judy Battista last Wednesday:

(Yes, right link despite title).

From that link — League officials at the time told her that there is nothing on the tape that can’t be seen on the TV broadcast or the coach’s tape.

All we’re seeing right now is just bearing that out.

Also from her:

Unfortunately, long threads where we all agree with each other about how silly allegations against the patriots are have proven to be pretty worthless.

You guys finding stuff like this should really consider getting it in the hands of the big name media guys. They're all looking for more opportunities to make hay from this and I have zero doubt that the NFL's perception of how the debate is going in the court of public opinion will factor into the penalties we face.

In the name of fairness that second one is a bit of a stretch, when trying to compare them. But yeah, its a joke overall.

Audio would have been absolutely key. If our guys were talking abt it or if we had audio on their coaches things would look a lot different.

Worst thing abt this tape is the employee who couldn't think on his feet to save his life.

Like I said hours after this broke. You can get this from the A22.

Well, we haven't heard the entire exchange either. I am sorry, but I doubt the producer said nothing, no one else said nothing and I am sure the scout was like "WTF"?

You gotta be careful what gets served up on the internet.
