Sounds like he's competing for the #3 job.
Connor Cook is considered the defacto backup.
Still nothing to write home about, though.

Agreed, just drives home how lucky we are here...Still nothing to write home about, though.
It can get better. I really like carr. Big Ben's clearly not the same QB he once was.
Might be a sneaky good signing for them. His strengths will be accentuated in that system.
Yup, everyone will simply throw it everywhere else
I'd still go after him. He won't be a shutdown corner by any means. He will, however, be used better than he was in Dallas' system.
I'd rather give the snaps to the players already here
Maybe Mingo cancels Burkhead, Ryan cancels Gilmore, Bennett cancels Allen - maybe they're in line for a 4th round comp pick right now?
Can't deny that they are loaded in the secondary.Might be a sneaky good signing for them. His strengths will be accentuated in that system.
Players acquired in trade are not part of the Compensation equation
If Butler is indeed gone, I wonder if the Pats would be interested in giving DeShawn Shead a 1 year deal since he's coming off an injury. He was pretty good for the Seahawks last year.
We've signed RB Joe Banyard, CB Leonard Johnson and WR Corey Washington.
