It could be. Point is, there is no need to inflate accomplishments.

Belicheck is cemented to every true football fan as either one of the GOATs or the GOAT period.

Being a GOAT doesn't make him above approach or mean he hasn't made mistakes.

It doesn't hurt Belicheck's ego or status to point out his flaws.

I would have chosen Brady over Bill to stay, but that doesn't mean I want Bill gone because he is still the best at his position
Then why are you posting what cassell did one year in KC?

Would you give up a 4th or 5th?? I am sure a 3rd is out of the question.

Possibly. He is a solid #2 receiver who is has the potential to be a #1 WR with a good QB throwing to him.

It's routinely done now by almost everyone, and it's proven to pay off with last 3 SB winners.

Also, you don't have to go all in but adding $10M to future 2023-2024 cap space is certainly doable w/ almost no downside (given increased future cap). It's ridiculous not to take advantage of the rules that allow you to put together a more talented team and have them signed for next 3 years.

Clearing $10m is alot less than what teams like the saints and packers are having to do right now, and the type of amount i said id have no issue with. With those 2 its the kind of drastic’kick the can down the road’ im referring to . Just because they are making it under the cap now doesn’t mean its the way to follow. And neither of them have much to show for it either.

Do we need a #2 receiver?

One more draft.
But how does it help to wait? The guy you sign now by pushing the same money into the future is here this year to grow with the team. How does waiting make him better for us next year?
The cap is irrelevant because we are talking about restructuring to move cap money forward.
Why wouldn’t you want Max getting that experience with the players who will be here next year instead of the ones who won’t?

if they start pushing their stacks in next year, they will still have next year's draft to build with, also - this year AND next year is two drafts that effect the 2023 roster

I'm not going to knock his consistency Robby Anderson waaay better and more productive than Agholor I'm warming up.

Do we need a #2 receiver?

If we can't get a #1, we might as well get more #2s. But if the Pats get Anderson, they can cut or trade Agholor if needed. Anderson is a better receiver than Agholor. And probably better suited for the Patriots' offense.

Ideally, I would like to see the Pats sign Robinson or Landry (as long as they aren't too expensive), trade for Anderson, and then cut or trade Agholor.

Realistically beggars are no choosers and Anderson and Bourne would knock Myers down to a number Three where he belongs. Two good Two's can make up for the lack of a True #1. I still hope a they Draft at least Two Rookie WR's this is Strong Draft for it.

Do we need a #2 receiver?

"Need" is a difficult term to work with, because it's so inexact and people here manipulate it. In an ideal world, in the sense of receiver depth charts, you'd want Bourne and Meyers as your WR3/WR4 guys.

Then why are you posting what cassell did one year in KC?
Because Bill didn't perform miracles with Cassell. Cassell was good for a few seasons but got wasted playing for a terrible HC in Todd Hailey.

Bill going 11-5 with Matt Cassell isn't a miracle. He wouldn't have gone 11-5 with Curtis Painter.

Bill instead should get credit for drafting and keeping Matt Cassell because he was good.

It's keeping real what Bill has accomplished instead of inflating it. Bill's resume for Canton doesn't need any added fluff

And I know Kendrick Bourne is working hard this Offseason after last season he should be even better.

Well it sure seems like our regressing in the last month of the season carried over in the playoffs and now in early FA... don't shoot the observer.
How does playing a bad game carry over to free agency?
By your argument a poor finish to season means doom no matter what.
If we were breaking the bank the complaints would be that it’s all the wrong players.

This.

If Bourne and Meyers are your wr1/wr2 then you have a weak wr stable.

Winning is possible with weak wrs, it's been done before, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't upgrade if there are reasonable options

Im curious. Why would it be better to wait until next year to add a talented player than to do it this year? What do you gain?

A better and a more flexible cap situation down the road...

A better and a more flexible cap situation down the road...

when your 2nd year QB is closer to being ready to go the long haul......when it's arguably a better FA class (i've heard that, haven't confirmed it), when you've had 2 drafts (2022 and 2023, although FA does happen before draft) to stockpile young talent to play in 2023 & 2024
