People a few years after his retirement will look at the 2 rings and the stats you mention and think "he was a great quarterback" but then realize they can't remember really ever watching him play.

I don't hear anyone say that about Phil Simms. And Simms atleast had one good year 1986, when he made first team All-Pro. Eli has never made first or second team All-Pro.

Eli will disappear into obscurity and mediocrity like Simms' career has. Noone calls Simms HoF calibre.

Rumor was Pats had some interest.

There is zero chance that a guy that finishes in the top 5 all time in passing yards and passing touchdowns, with two Lombardis as the starting quarterback will not make the Hall of Fame.

Here's a list of the top 10 NFL all time in passing yards and passing TDs:

Yards
P Manning - HOF lock
Favre - HOF
Brees - HOF lock
Brady - HOF lock
Marino - HOF
Elway - HOF
Moon - HOF
E Manning
Tarkenton - HOF
Roethlisberger

Touchdowns
P Manning - HOF lock
Favre - HOF
Brees - HOF lock
Brady - HOF lock
Marino - HOF
Tarkenton - HOF
E Manning
Rivers
Roethlisberger
Elway - HOF

Rodgers is #11 and will obviously pass some of the guys on this list.

Rivers has zero Super Bowl appearances, which may hurt his candidacy. Roethlisberger will likely finish his career right up where Eli is, and he also has two SB rings.

Everyone who has the career statistical numbers in these categories that is retired is already in the HOF (except Peyton, who isn't yet eligible). There's no way Eli doesn't get in with that resumé.

Eli will make the HOF on the first ballot.

Archie says so - and I'm not kidding (and Michael Irvin said it outright earlier this year).

All these players are coming off the board and everything remains quiet with hightower.

He's coming home, man.
The guy is a champion. He ain't gonna waste away in obscurville for a few dollars.

Campbell from a contender to a toxic dump. Hey no taxes at least and nice weather

Where careers go to die lol. Maybe coughlin can turn it around.
Must be the culture. I thought that team was gonna at least go in the right direction last year. They had the talent.
For their sake, I hope you're right, Coughlin might be the difference.

Maybe we could help them out with a mid round draft pick for Robinson...Hey! I can dream.

Good job by the jags there. need a solid veteran with all of that young talent. Culture should change there. Coughlin is practically the father of that franchise
