DRAFT NFL Draft Talk

Membou is ranked as OL1 and OT1 in the draft.

Several respectable journalists have him going to us.

The AI is basing that prediction on something other than thin air.

Sam, I'm not seeing where the surprise is.
He has not played LT in college
The switch to LT does not always go smoothly

Campbell has 3 years of LT at LSU

Once again, Chad Reuter has Josh Simmons falling to the Pats at 38. His pick at 4 has changed from Hunter two weeks ago to Carter now. The tackles go 10, 11, 13, 24, 33, 38

4. Abdul Carter
38. Josh Simmons
69. Kaleb Johnson
77. Nohl Williams (Cal CB)
106. Jalen Royals (Utah State WR)
144. Joshua Gray (Oregon State G)

Was written before the Milton trade, and I’ll assume he would have given the Pats somebody different than who he had for the Cowboys there.

Bottom line, I don't want Pats to settle for whomever is left at #4.
If Hunter is there, then he's the type of 2-position game-breaker that has the value to be a top 4 pick.
But, Carter or Campbell are not. Carter is not McGinest - a true DE, 3-down edge setter & dominant physical pass rusher.
All of the LT's have pros/cons - so none are top 10 value.
While many say nobody wants to trade up, you know that Raiders & Cowboys are teams that would, and even Jets or Saints could... if Sanders is there and someone wants to make sure they get him. (that could be Steelers at 21 too)
If Hunter is gone, then I'd trade down to 9 or 12 or 21 and pick Banks or Conerly. We need a true legit LT who can start week 1.

Carter and Simmons would be fantastic!

Trade back with Saints. For #9 and 40
Take Warren, Jeanty or Ekgbuka at 9

Trade 38 and 40 to get back into round 1 take best remaining OT
If we go down to 9, we will draft Campbell, Membou, Banks or Simmons.

We would then allow the draft to come to us, having four Day 2 picks.

Can he kick accurately in cold/inclement weather?…

That's my concern with him as well. He literally never has. I had a scout try to tell me 'Well, he kicked at Louisville that one game'.

He's basically born and raised in Miami (his dad was a kicker for the U in the 90s). It is my #1, and frankly, only concern about him. Kid can kick, he's one of *those* kickers.

Yeah, he was pretty good before his injury.

Yes, we replaced Jon Jones.

Are we suggesting that it is not a need to upgrade Bolden and Dial?

Scenario for you - and I'll start this by saying I don't want a RB at 4 overall.

Let's say we draft Campbell, and he becomes a guard because his arms are in fact too small... highly possible right? In fact historically probable.

And - let's also say Jeanty becomes an all-pro back, also highly possible, widely projected even.

In that scenario, a year from now - would we not regret passing on a blue chip offensive player for an average guard? Especially when this is how both players were projected by most?

Assuming Hunter/Carter are gone - What if we took Jeanty R1, trade up for your LT of choice - that's 2 upgrades that help Maye immensely.

An elite back helps the passing game/young QB a lot, and if our O line has 4 players upgraded (RT, C, LG, LT to go with Onwenu), and a better coach/scheme by all accounts then we should be able to run it heavy next year.

The other half of me still thinks it's nuts to take a RB at 4 but this scenario popped into my head. Alright tell me I'm nuts
i've been thinking the same thing, then i thought how kc shutdown saquon, then i thought it didn't hurt the iggles, then i thought.....i don't know....this is going to be a long 3 weeks.

Man, if Kentucky’s DT Deone Walker & Oregon’s DT Jamaree Caldwell can hold up against stronger O-lineman in the league & clean up their run defense technique, oh boy. There are a few NT sized players who can get in the backfield in a jiffy like 3Ts. I’m sure both coach Vrabel & Williams are licking their chops.
