Josh Simmons adds another new wrinkle he's the Perfect Left Tackle for us. I was a little leery of him because of the injury: but IF he's cleared I can see him being the pick on a Trade Down Josh Simmons 6-4 317 very athletic Big man. We know the Hunter/Carter possibility: If they're available I can see us Trading down getting very good returns. Our Biggest Need is a LT and Josh Simmons solves that he has very little negatives. With this awesome news about him being ahead of schedule: #4 IF Carter or Hunter is there might be for sale to the Highest Bidder... A First Rounder in 2026 will have to be included.

6-4 is not big for a LT

Bruce Armstrong was 6'4 remember him?? It's not size it's strength and athleticism. Matt Light was also the dreaded 6'4 how did his career turn out??

I wish we would trade down and take Simmons if we can’t trade up to 2.
All eyes on Sanders pro day.

I'm all for Trading #4 now IF Hunter or Carter is there. We Trade Down get a 2026 First Rounder in the package and Draft Josh Simmons win win.

We need a reliable LT. If we go in that direction take the player more likely to stick at LT and not have to be moved to guard or RT.
I think that is Campbell.
Although I prefer trade back and take Tyler Warren or Jeanty
And try to get Connerly or Simmons with a trade up in late first

That would require 2 trades and I have zero confidence that Wolf could execute
So, the injured Simmons is a reliable 2025 starter?

You have no idea if Simmons will be ready to go by September.
You can say that for any player. Reports are that his recovery is on track.
Of course nothing is guaranteed.

  • Simmons, who's coming back from a torn patellar tendon, is believed to be ahead of schedule in his recovery and the expectation is he'll be ready for the start of the 2025 season, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported. Rapoport noted that Simmons' medical reviews during the combine have gone very well. Simmons is ranked No. 31 in Daniel Jeremiah's prospect rankings.

I'm ok with using Lowe for September and even October if it means we get the best LT. I'll leave whether that's Simmons up to smarter people to decide. But if he's the best LT and the team feels he will fully recover then September and October will be forgotten quickly.

The problem is I don't want to use 4 even after a trade down for damaged goods. I want to stay at 4 and pick Hunter, Carter, Graham, (or a small trade down for) Warren, Jeanty, or even Tet still (though I'm cooling a bit on him). Then trade back into the first using pick 38 and get Simmons that way. Another problem though as I'm not sure he'll fall far enough.

But as we are all speculating here this is what I think would be the best scenario for us. It's on Wolf and Vrabel to pull it off if it's possible.

Matt Light was on the verge of being drafted by the Jets, but NE traded up after Pioli was told by Light he was talking to the Jets.

Trade back with Saints. For #9 and 40
Take Warren, Jeanty or Ekgbuka at 9

Trade 38 and 40 to get back into round 1 take best remaining OT
Hate your #9 guys aside from Jeanty. Seriously like who takes a Slot WR @ 9??

Best offensive skill player is OK with me at 9

Meta AI predicts pats will select Membou at 4

Would be huge surprise
Campbell higher floor at LT
Membou higher ceiling

Membou is ranked as OL1 and OT1 in the draft.

Several respectable journalists have him going to us.

The AI is basing that prediction on something other than thin air.

Sam, I'm not seeing where the surprise is.
