NFL Betting

I'm tagging this. I went through hell last year trying to sign up for online betting. I finally had to give up it was so ridiculously complicated. That Canadian site shows some promise.

Yeah, funding can be a real *****.

Tony--I've been using one of the biggest online books for at least 13-14 yrs now which is sportsbook.com. The one and only drawback that I've had with them is the fact that they've recently been taking a little longer to get the FedEx check out in the mail. It used to only take a couple weeks, but now it's been taking about 6 weeks.

Another really reputable online book is sportsinteraction.com. They are based here in N.America (Canada) which makes the process a lot quicker.

The biggest drawbacks to any online sportsbook is the fact that they make you "register" with them in terms of faxing or scanning your photo identification and a copy of your credit card that you'll use. I can honestly say that I've never had one issue with any fraud or worries though. If you stick with the bigger companies that are well known you'll be fine.

Sportsinteraction used to have some juicy dog lines. I may have to fund my account. Also, sportsbookreview.com does a nice job helping bettors find reputable books.

I used to use bovada for my online book. I've done extremely well betting on

Patriots games over the past 4-5 years - which is a stark contrast

to my horrible luck at casinos.

The best bet I ever made was taking the Patriots/Giants to make the

Superbowl @ 16:1 in 2011-2012.

Nowadays, I have my friend place my bets for me when he's out in Vegas.

In March, I put 200$ on the Patriots to win the Superbowl.

The only thing that would turn me off of the 67/1 division winners futures bet would be the fact that you have an insanely low chance of actually predicting ALL 6 division winners; hence the 67-1 odds.

It's like trying to pick a 6 team parlay on Sundays during football season. It may look like there are 6 "for sure" games over the course of all the time slots, but it just never, ever happens.

Good luck though!

stick with 3 teamers brotha little 110 3 teamer gettin that 7 bills kidddddddddd

While we're at it, I often refer to statfox.com for my handicapping tools.

Obviously there isn't much information at the moment, but once the season gets going they have some good stuff in there. Lots of great numbers if you're in to that sort of thing for both NCAA and NFL.

Sports Handicapping Community Sports Betting Information From StatFox

It's all about information. Key information about a player that has a sore arm, going through a breakup, death in family, distracted by owing money or not having any when bills come due is what it's all about.

And of course, there are always those players that are paid serious money to affect the outcome of a game, a missed block here or a botched kick there, maybe a dropped pass at the end of a meaningless game (yet, point spread may be changed as a result). Believe it because its true, not so much in the Pros, at least as far as throwing a game, but much more prevalent than you might think at the college level.

Bettors get an edge when they gain access to that information, it's really a dirty business when bookmakers pay serious money for that information and then sell it to bettors looking for it.

Sure glad I don't bet!!

bovada is easy as hell to sign up for

Sports betting is awesome and extremely fun this time of year, but from my experience with it, no winnings are enough for you. It's so hard to stop and pull out your earnings because you want more and more and keep thinking you can double and triple it--you feel invincible once you get on a roll. Plus chasing a loss is something that kills many people

Stick with the stock market and hopefully you guys have been riding Tesla to the bank this year. Biotechs have surged like no other year. Stocks have been up 20%+ this year.

I have put on Ravens to win 8 or more games paying around $1.80.

Looking at their front 7 last night i just felt they were too solid to be alosing ball club. Time will tell.

I had some pre season bets on as well on the line

St Louis +4.5 (The big punt return screwed me there)
Pats +5.5 or 4.5 i can't remember
Jets +5.5

Brandon Stokley cost me a 16 game accumulator (week 1 games) a couple of years ago with that miracle catch for Denver against the Bengals :bricks:

It was only £1 I'd put on, but still the odds were ridiculous and it was 1 play away from paying out!

I've been placing free bets on freesportsbet for years (previously centsports). It's fun and if your good you can cash out real money. Last year I finally signed up at bovada. I put in $50 and played with that for a couple months before finally losing it all. Probably will put a few bucks in this years as well before the regular season. Love teasers!

Elon Musk Fraking rocks!

Most of the places mentioned so far it says I'm ineligible to sign up for? I'm in New England. Not Washington or Maryland or any of those few states with specific laws against it.

Is 5dimes a reputable place? I vaguely remember seeing that they don't let you buy out unless you have 1000 dollars or something like that.

It is a reputable place. I'm not aware of that specific rule to be honest. It may be nothing more than a rumor.

There was another poster earlier in the thread who uses that site. Hopefully he'll chime in on his experience. I found an online forum for sportsbetting who refer to their experience with 5dimes, so maybe this will be some use to you:

5Dimes??? Any Good????

I tried 5dimes...wasn't a fan. Bovada i got a check within 1-2 weeks whenever i cashed out.

It says you are ineligible to sign up becasue you are trying to use euro sites where american IPs cant be used.

Love 5dimes been with them for 10 years. You can go to the website to read their rules regarding payouts. There are certain schedules where they pay out for free based on frequency and amounts.

Do you use instadebit?

I went against my conscience and bet on a preseason game. Doubled up on the Patriots game (in spite of Tebows best efforts to lose my second, full game bet). Didn't bet on any games last night but would have won 4 out of 5, so already regretting that.

Lions look like a wreck, as do the Jags. Depending on plans for Brady, probably going to bet on these:
first half Patriots vs Lions (-2.5)
full game Patriots vs Lions (-2.5)
first half Jags vs Eagles (-2.5)
full game Jags vs Eagles (-2.5)

Anyone else making any bets?

I want to bet on Colts vs Giants tonight given how horrible Colts defense is, but given Irsay and how bad they were last week, might see starters play the full half.

So yeah, I didn't put that 0-16 bet on.... that could come back to bite me
