NFL adds 15-yard penalty for grounds crew clearing snow for a field goal
I’m amazed they didn’t make that a rule after 1982!
Patriots where inconsequential then. I recall both incidents they were both funny.
Little late on that one.
F you Shula
Went to the HOF today, took crap from the ticket girl over the Pats, told her to grow up and pray harder for the Brownies and maybe if she lives long enough they may be relevant someday. Couldn’t believe how much Namath stuff there was, and brace yourselves guys and gals because clearly Ray Lewis is the featured inductee in this year’s class. But a fun take nevertheless.
So is Bill prepping for a blizzard bowl clean up with the grounds crew, 15 yards back from the spot? Game winner from 28 packed in snow or from 43 clean.
NFL also announces Cabbage Patch giveaway on opening day. Working on Michael Jackson performance on opening day. No promises.
In other news, nfl legalizes the forward pass....
In other news , some Patriot fans will defend Roger Goodell over this because he has no control over rules...
My wife and I have a family obligation in Ohio coming up, and we’re torn between choosing the Rock and Roll HOF in Cleveland and the Pro Football HOF in Canton. Was it worth it, in your opinion?
Is there a fair amount of Pats stuff? Is it heavy on the most recent SB with Philly? Just trying to get a feel for what we’re discussing, that’s all. Personally, my vote goes to the Rock and Roll HOF, but it’s a further drive.
They finally caved in to Shula’s letter writing campaign and daily phone calls.
That is because "Sheriff Roger" was not yet on the throne...
Thanks for the heads up. I hear the HOF Induction will be tabbed, Weekend at Ray's, and they are going to have him carry around 2 stiffs a la Weekend at Bernie's. They expect Ray Lewis to speak for many hours and are trying to figure out what to do about the odor.
So my wife and I went to both halls this week, they are both very well worth the visits.
There’s certainly more going on in Cleveland than in Canton, so as an overall activity for a couple/family, if I had to choose it would be Rock and Roll. Lots of very cool gear to see there and as you’d expect the presentations are absolutely top level.
But, the football was awesome especially for those like me who love the game itself and wanted to learn a lot more about the early days. Mostly they have exhibits, with lots of video screens giving 2 - 3 minute presentations on specific topics. There is a small theater with a 20 minute presentation that was good, especially if you are OK with the Namath experience (I actually like Joe, I like his cheerful style).
There is a good amount of Pats stuff and really not much on the last SB so no worries on that. Actually a pleasant surprise was that there was very little Goodell presence, and not as much Shula or Manning as I had expected.
Bottom line: take an extra day if you can and do both, you never know if you’ll have the chance again!
P.S., if you’re into the Shawshank Redemption you should also check out the Ohio State Reformatory, about an hour’s drive from Canton in Mansfield, OH, it’s a very interesting tour of the old, prison where they filmed a lot of the movie and the town nearby is a pleasant little place too
...I don't know what you're talking about...
How does someone who works at the Pro Football HOF give crap to Patriots fans? They’re gonna have to build a whole new wing to fit everything the Pats have done over the last two decades. The Patriots ARE the NFL, like it or not....
Thanks for the advice and for taking the time to respond. Much appreciated. I think we’ll give some strong consideration to trying to do both. Thanks again.
