Next Sop Tetairoa McMillan's Pro Day

Sounds good to me. I hope we have the option to trade down if that's what they want. Higgins and Higgins
We send the #4 Pick to the Bengals and the Bengals send us their 1st and 2nd Round Picks in this Draft, Tee Higgins (who agrees to a new contract with us before the deal is finalized), and a 2nd Round Pick and a 4th Round Pick in next years draft. We'd have a shot at Josh Simmons or another decent Legit LT Prospect, and use one of our now 2 2nd Round Picks on Jayden Higgins or another solid WR Prospect, and we'd use the 2nd 2nd Rounder on another decent prospect player. And we'd have 2 2nd Round Picks and 2 4th Round Picks in next years Draft.

Oh geez, I'll have to look at this in the AM when I can see more clearly.

The Bengals would just hang up the phone if we asked for Higgins, #17, 2 2's, and a 4 for #4.

We'd be lucky to get #17, Higgins, and their #3 this year in that deal.

The same reasons we aren't in love at pick #4 is the same reasons teams aren't going to go crazy trading up in the draft.

The trade value chart would say that we would get ripped off with that offer. Perhaps another team would make that deal. They wouldn't have a Higgins, but might offer something we'd like. Just looking at alternatives to make the team better. We still have a lot of needs. If Hunter or Carter slide to #4 (or even Mason Graham), they might value one of those 3 players enough. Besides, they still have Chase at WR. They can't afford Chase and Higgins and expect to keep the rest of their good players, let alone pay for anymore. Or, they could take that #4 and trade back a couple or three, get a player they covet and get a few extra picks. It's not impossible.

I would be okay with the Pats selecting Tet. I think he’ll he a WR1 and boy do we need it.

After the first day of FA, the picks that make sense are Hunter (if still available), the two LT’s and Tet. It’s clear that #4 should be an offense pick.

I’m really out on Tet. I don’t think he has a top 10 receiver ceiling. In fact I think there is a decent bust chance with him. I’m not the biggest Will Campbell fan but would prefer him at 4 easily.

I’d rather take Campbell and either trade back into the 1st (38 and 77 gets us to 25 - or 105 gets us to 31) if one of the receivers falls. Or I would be very happy to trade down 10 spots or so from 38 and get one of the Iowa State guys.

I don't agree with you on Tet but do agree on the rest of your strategy. We need to go LT-WR at the first and second pick or WR-LT. The other position I'd like to address with a top 100 pick would be EDGE. I'm not completely convinced Landry is the permanent answer.

So we're officially out on Adbul Carter?

Mayo made sure of that, Too bad because He’s the missing piece to put this D over the top. Doubt he’s there at 4 without a trade up. Our only hope imo is Titans like Ward,Raiders or Jets get stupid and trade up to the one spot to select Ward, the Giants are in on Sanders. Then there’s a fair chance Cleveland will pass for Hunter after extending Garrett.

It’s all good if it works out that way, I just don’t want to miss out on Simmons, Campbell or some other potentially good starting LT (I’m not a fan of starting a College RT at LT right off the bat).

I agree about not wanting to start a RT at LT. Simmons and Conerly Jr. are true LT's. Ozzy Trapilo from BC who might be there in the 3rd to 4th Rounds would be nice as a Swing Tackle and he's a LT/RT who's working out with Dante (Scar). With that type of trade, we could literally address LT, RT, WR and then some other pieces. But LT would be addressed (as would long-term RT).

I keep forgetting about Conerly…he could be a good one too. I also agree about Ozzy and it’s my belief Scar is helping him for the Patriots, who plan on drafting him around the 4th.

There was a report a week or 2 back that Scar was assisting the team in a formal manner, which he denied. I believe it’s true to some degree with Ozzy.

We'd all do well to remember that many of the LT's that we and other teams would want as young FA LT's (who usually don't make it to FA), were chosen anywhere from the 2nd Round to UDFA. Like with any position, it's just a matter of having a talented enough personnel department who can identify such players, and a coaching staff to help them succeed.

Like most of us, I’m quite disappointed to see him decline to work out even at his pro day and want nothing to do with him at #4 or elsewhere in the 1st round. For me this takes him from being Drake London 2.0 to someone a lot less likely to fill the big gaping hole they have at the X receiver position. If his numbers compared to London’s, considering the need and what seems likely to be available at #4, I’d want the Pats to seriously consider Tet.

Obviously Tet and his people are not stupid about what this could cost him. They likely know already which teams will not need him to work out publicly and will gladly take him anyway. All 4 NFC West teams come to mind. Don’t think for a minute that agents and teams don’t skew the playing field to get guys.
Drake London did the same thing pre draft.

Please judge the man based on his play on the field and not whether or not you would want him to date your daughter.

Most high character/choir boys STINK at wide receiver. The Diva personalities usually perform at a pro bowl level. Deal with it

Because the patriots front office has immaculate success trading back and picking wide receivers in round 2.

If you want real WR talent, pony up and draft one at 4 overall
