Man that PFT article is just FULL of people ranting about how this is all the fault of 'jealous brain dead liberals and their PC agenda to promote Cam' (what the f.uck does ANY of this have to do with Cam?) And they all have more positive ratings than negative ones. And if they want to bring up Cam, I wonder how many of these people defending Peyton's actions as just being a dumb teenager are the same people who crucify Cam for the laptop incident. (Hint: all of them) Middle America everyone.

Do you think we will see another invasion of privacy?

Maybe rummage through Manning's dial up AOL account emails so they can broadcast them for all to see, like they did to Brady...

Can't wait to see him talking about pool covers, best chicken parm recipes and which food pairs best with Budweiser or whatever kids in Tennessee during 1996 talked about...

Sad thing to come of DeflateGate is that hate has become pandemic ...

Tends to subjugate general football related discussion.

well, I suppose you would have to ask the author of the piece that we're talking about in this thread, since he opened his manning article with

On the morning after Super Bowl 50, I posted a picture on my Facebook page of Cam Newton smiling and embracing Peyton Manning after the game and simply asked why that warm photo wasn't being talked about instead of Cam being frustrated at the post-game press conference. It has since been shared more than 234,000 times and seen by more than 20 million people.

although, to be fair about it, it's being widely reported that the guy's birth certificate supposedly reads middle american.
so, let us know what you find out

also, if I was really interested in being devil's advocate, I guess I could always flip it around and wonder if the edgy americans tripping over themselves to dogpile manning were excusing cam for being a dumb kid making a mistake, or maybe defending bill cosby 'cuz that stuff happened 20 yrs ago, or whenever.

Stealing a laptop is not in the same league as sexually assaulting a woman and then spending a decade defaming her character. Could you be any more disingenuous?

I'd be curious as to why you link the 2 of these incidents + what you think one has to do with the other?
is there some kind of a contest?

shouldn't aaron hernandez be way ahead of manning?

radioshow i heard today -doug gottlieb i think was again throwing out the same argument- long time ago, these things happen with teenagers , why now, nothing new.
The saddest part of this the 'nothing new' commentary. No one researched and reported this forever with detail or gave any opinions on it , let the story die -usa today sat on this court docs for 13yrs - and now they turn around and say its nothing new.

So if they split in mid-December, and in mid-February she is 3 months pregnant, then when they split she would have been exactly 1 month pregnant, but women rarely realize they are pregnant until right around that 1 month mark. So either they broke up right before she knew she was pregnant, or she revealed she was right at that time to Tom, which she only would've known if she was testing herself and thus would've been going off the BC intentionally to get preggo, which would've been pretty wrong and would've been a good reason for TB to end it. Either way Tom's clear.
THIS.
And actually.....their son was born August 22nd... which means she got pregnant end of November. They split beginning of December....People Magazine released a statement that they split on Dec 14th...they probably broke up a week or two before that. She could have been less than 3 weeks along when they split!

Sarah Spain That's What She Said On Peyton Manning Sexual Assault Allegations

Thing is, the real reason this Manning stuff is news again 20 years later is because people are just now learning the extent of the allegations -- and just now realizing that for years the story had been treated with kid gloves.

I remember hearing about Manning's so-called college "prank" a year or so ago. It was a footnote in a larger story, an almost throwaway mention of an alleged 1996 "mooning" incident when he was a junior quarterback at UT. I'm never one to shrug off reports of alleged sexual assault, but this seemed like just a joke gone wrong, an immature student-athlete who accidentally mooned a female trainer while attempting to bare his backside to a fellow male athlete. That's how Manning spun the incident, that's how most writers reported at it the time, and that's how most writers have reported it ever since.
If reporters can write about Manning's alleged 1996 sexual assault incident with so much detail 20 years later, why wasn't the same care and attention given to it years ago? And why weren't those more-detailed allegations made clear until now, when he may have already played his final game? Was Manning's incredible football pedigree too intimidating? Was it simply easier to ignore athletes behaving badly before the days of social media? Was the "boys will be boys" mentality of that era so pervasive that women like Naughright were simply expected to keep quiet and take it? Did both fans and reporters create a narrative for Manning they were too scared to disrupt?

The truth is, it's probably a combination of all of those things. Manning was, to fans and media alike, one of the good guys. His football legacy, "aw shucks" attitude, legendary football IQ and fantastic comedic timing made him an easy guy to root for. And once the book has been written on a guy, no one wants to take the time to rewrite it, especially if the edits spoil the happy ending. It's easier to deny, deny, deny than to admit that a player might be great at football, great on TV, great at children's hospitals and charity events, but still be very flawed.

I'm not religious person but this feels right to me.

It will depend on the exact language of the agreement, but generally breaching a contract does not nullify it. Rather, it only allows the other party to pursue whatever remedies law and the contract's own language allows to be taken against the breacher.

So in the most common case the aggrieved party could sue for breach of contract or demand whatever liquidated damages any liquidated damages clause states, but they are not relieved of their obligations just because the other side breached.

Or, for example, if the contract said something like "both sides agree to never say anything about what happened and also she agrees not to sue for defamation if he never says anything about it", and then he opens his trap she could sue him for defamation and sue for breach of contract but she would still have to keep her mouth shut (aside from court filings).
However, she can be an anonymous source for a copy of the sealed documents. No one can ever prove she was the source.

The only reason Peyton has ANY rings is because the NFL gave them to him. His ring in 2006? Never should have happened because they should have called DPI in the endzone. And this year's ring, well, I pointed out several issues with the game that showed how the NFL enabled the Broncos to win despite Manning..
I disagree. Your logic is the same that is used by Brady detractors when they bring up the snowplow game and the Tuck Rule games. There are many vagaries to the game and what counts is the score at the end. All his flaws notwithstanding, Manning was an outstanding football player and a worthy foil for Tom Brady.

just how far does this cover up go, and am I putting myself at risk by even asking..??

Olivia Manning seems a class act...don't see why she gets a lot of hate

if that's his wife ppl probably don't like seeing her get a competitive advantage

This should come as no surprise to anyone:

I decided to see what Gregg Doyel had to say about this story, him being such a big Manning fan and all. His sole comment about it was re-tweeting a positive article about Manning that he wrote back in November, when the Broncos played at the Colts.

It's not that he's been quiet otherwise. He's been very active tweeting and writing about basketball over the past week. He can't seem to say anything about Peyton, though, not even a screwed-up, Clay Travis-style defense. Maybe he's afraid a Colts or Broncos fan will slash his tires.
