People have been saying the say thing about Taylor since he came here in 2020. He had 10 carries in 2 games in 2020 that inflated his YPC for that year. In the 29 carries he's had since then (21&22), he's totaled 46 yards.

We've been waiting for years for him to produce. I just don't see it happening.

I don't know if JJ will produce, but I think Bill might keep him on the 53 over Montgomery and certainly Harris.

Yes. But my guess is LT. The move to RT occurred later.

Anderson all the sudden got a disease or something. I’m speculating Lyme. Who knows.

Then McDermott beat out Reiff…but still couldn’t pass block.

It turned into an “Oh, sh-t” moment.

Cuz Anderson can be LT and Trent Brown RT. That could be beautiful. And Sow is developed at OT for the year with Reiff ahead of him. But they quickly realize Reiff doesn’t have much left in the tank. About to turn 35. This ain’t rocket science, boys.

I don't think McDermott beat out Reiff. We will see. You might be right.

The Eagles had 70 sacks last season and 4 guys over 10 sacks. The Pats line has struggled last season and this preseason.
I get that, but this was in response to Mr. Always a Troll making his remark about a player he knows nothing about, just to get a rise.

That's longer than most 4th Rounders last in the League. Not a failure. Just business.

It seems like most people, not just here, but NFL fans in general, have no clue as too how many draft picks across the league either have little impact, or fail completely. The wash out rate is really high compared to the hit rate,

How often have we said that RB's are a fungeable commodity. Like RB's, colleges produce 15-20 legitimate prospects a year. Successful OT's are a LOT more rarer. Yes Strong looked good on paper. Maybe he looked better vs the Cards, but where has he been the next 2 games?

BTW- why did the Browns let this kid go. This kid has played light out this preseason. They must be stacked at OT to let him go. You cannot have too many good OT's in this league. Son of a college HC and a 10 year NFL vet. It's a great pedigree.

I really like Sow as a DEVELOPMENTAL OT. I really don't want him starting this year. Let him ease his way into a starting role. RB's are a dime a dozen. I regret only that he was a 4th round pick, but he was a #4 RB at best who wasn't the greatest pass blocker, and that is a MUST for a Pats RB and the biggest reason why JJ Taylor has had a problem sticking on the team. Besides Harris is the kind of back Bill likes. He's big strong, tough and DOESN'T lose yds when he gets carries and is an excellent pass blocker.

Does this mean we see Riley reiff go into IR to start off with . Looks like JJ Taylor will make the team.
maybe keep Ty and only have 3 rbs for cutdown and JJ a candidate to return from ps.

I was hoping Strong would really contribute this season, but I get why they traded him for a tackle prospect they liked. That’s a bigger need right now, and part time running backs are a readily available position in todays NFL. But I’m not in the least surprised by the carping, as it’s the same people who find fault with every move they make.

And the addition of Elliot gave them much more depth at RB, as both he and Stevenson can catch the ball.

RBs taken in 4th round are normally expected to contribute significant reps and even become starters. We usually take RBs in rounds 3-4, mostly redshirt year 1, contribute year 2 and become an important part of offense by year 3.

Reiff banged up, Anderson no where to be seen... we needed tackle depth... Harris and strong both suck, so why not deal one of the two to guarantee that you don't have to deal with the waiver wire in trying to get tackle depth
I wouldn't say Harris and Strong both suck. There were other backs apparently the Pats liked equally well and were able to get a needed tackle that they seemed to value. Maybe we could give it a chance. Every time a player is named on this board, half of the people have to make it into an indictment of Bill Belichick. You can't keep them all. They don't all work out. Bill is not infallible. This is less of a Pats board and more of a Bill Belichick dart board.
