I don't normally say this, but what a misleading title. The Pats are just doing their due diligence. They're also visiting with Marcus Lattimore.

I was just going to post this. The thread title is misleading as hell.

We'll visit with what? 30+ players, maybe more. I can't remember the official number of allowed visits.

I think the only real "interest" is that he's a patsfans binky for some reason.

I'd take a shot on him if he were around in the late 4th/5th round, but someone will snatch him up by then.

First off, all they are doing is their due diligence. Each year they bring in tens of potential picks and they never actually draft them for a variety of reasons.

If i recall correctly, the last 2 years it seems like almost all the guys pats ended up drafting were seen either combine, uni-school or in foxboro. A surprising nbr actually in foxboro. cant remember any numbers, but i recalll thinking it after last years draft that it was surprising.

Earlier on in BB's tenure he ran silent-ran deep; and you NEVER KNEW where he was going -if they worked someone out all swore a blood oath of secrecy.

Now i think he is being devious in the OTHER DIRECTION........ They work out EVERYONE.

None of the players who visited Foxboro last year were drafted by the Pats (check out the draft contact thread from last year)

That may end up being for the better in my opinion, although I'd certainly take a chance on him in the 5th round or so--even though he'll be gone by then. There are a lot of questions about him and his abilities, and he may end up as one of those good college players who just is a boy amongst men here at the NFL level.

On another note, I saw an interview with him where he's really trying to get rid of the "Honey Badger" nickname prior to entering the NFL--which is probably in his best interest

Overrated. He was the product of some great LSU defenses/secondaries. He had 2 top 10 draftpicks as corners playing on the outside giving him a lot more freedom than he would have gotten with average players. He's not even 5'9 and he put up an incredible 4 reps on the bench when he sat out the entire year. He had one of the best S&C conditioning coaches in Moffit who could probably get the weakest poster on these boards to put up 8 reps. He didn't put the work in, he played with great players and he doesn't have the measurables. The thought of him lining up in the slot against someone like Boldin in the SB is terrifying.

There's absolutely no way that I'm hitting 8 reps at 225, even with Moffit's help...

He didn't have a bad combine at all so I don't get where you think I'm saying the combine is the reason why he won't be half the player he was in college at the next level.
