The other dafft game was set up just to get a feel for what people were looking at. I understand that the top 500 list was only one and others had prospects rated differently.

So with that in mind here is a new one. Using the same top 500 list , you can go 10 spots up from the current Patriots draft positon. you can pick anyone below that. You can also do trades. hopefully they will be somewhat realistic. You can use comp picks but then understand that the draft order will change because other teams will also have comp picks.

So here his the top 500.

and here is the draft order.

Have fun!

EDIT: Here is value board for those doing trades:

Just a reminder that THR hasn't updated its pick list. The Pats' current picks--before comp picks--are:
1: 24 [from SEA], 28
2: 60
3: 91
4: 123
5: N/A
6: 165 [from ARI], 187
7: 219

Also, if you do comp picks, remember that a pick after a given round knocks all remaining picks down (e.g., if there are two comp picks after round 3, then the Pats' round 4 pick will be 125; if there are seven more after rounds 4 and 5, their round 6 picks will be 174 and 196).

Yes, they need to add #165 to their list as they did in the other
draft game.

Here are my picks. And yes, god help me, I included a trade with TB. I sent them #28 for # 35 and #98.

#24 Anthoney Spencer, DE/OLB, Purdue
#35 Tony Gonzales, Wr, Ohio St
#60 David Irons, CB, Auburn
#91 Stewart Bradley, OLB, NEB
#98 Buster Davis, ILB, Fla St
#123 Darren stone, SS, Maine
#165 Danny Ware, RB, Ga
#187 Zak DeOssie, ILB, Brown
#196 Scott Stevenson, C, Iowa St
#219 Dante Rosario, TE, Oregon

I think I would be very happy if we ended up with those guys.

OK I'm game: I am assuming we keep or get value for Samuel and sign a guy like London-Fletcher at MLB.

BTW, dropping down 10 spots is a bit unrealistic for the 1st two rounds, especially the 1st. Huge difference between #14 and #24.

#24 - Leon Hall CB Michigan (rated #21 and I really DO think he could slide to us)

#28 - Jarvis Moss DE Florida (our new Willie McG)

#60 - Brian Leonard RB Rutgers (new running mate for Maroney with Dillon slowing down, guy with "Pats" written all over him)

#91 - Stewart Bradley OLB Nebraska (our LB corp retooling continues)

#123 - John Wendling FS Wyoming ( DB retooling continues with John Lynch-type hitter)

#165 - DeAndre Jackson CB Iowa State (CB with good size, speed and ball skills, 5-11 192 4.48)

#187 - Zak DeOssie MLB Brown (here's our intriguing local product)

#196 - Allen Barbre OT Missouri Southern State (i'll go with patchick's endorsement)

#219 - Chris Davis WR (athletic, wiry WR who the pats have spoken with, one of quickest WRs in draft, Pats love that type)

Now, no matter how good I think this draft is, if we review this effort after the draft, i'm sure I will have picked some guys appallingly high compared to how they actually got drafted....never fails!

Still fun and a good learning exercise though.

#24 - Anthony Spencer DE/OLB Purdue

#28 - Marcus McCauley CB Fresno State

#60 - Aaron Rouse SS Virginia Tech

#91 - H.B. Blades ILB Pittsburgh

#123 - Jeff Samardzija WR Notre Dame

#165 - Zak DeOssie ILB Brown

#187 - Reggie Lewis CB Florida

#219 - Desmond Bishop ILB California

Couple of deals to make it more interesting. I don't see a big difference between the players at 28 and 50 so I have the pats trading down out of the first then up to a higher pick in the second to take advantage of it.

#24 - Reggie Nelson FS Florida (#15)

Before everybody gets all over me saying he'll be gone please remember Vince Wilfork was a top ten prospect according to everybody.

#28 - (660 points) Traded to the Browns for #36 (540 points) and #99 (104 points)

36 - from browns Chris Houston (#41) CB Arkansas

47 - from packers (430 points)Trade with GB Anthony Gonzalez (#50) Wr Osu for #60 (300 points) and #91 (136 points)

#60 - Trade to GB

#91 - Traded to GB

#99 from Browns Stewart Bradley OLB Nebraska (#92)

#123 - Dwayne Wright RB Fresno State (#115)

I heard great things about this kid, one report that he was the best back at the Hula Bowl, has anybody seen him play? I heard he's like Jacobs from the Giants, not quite a big, but could be the power guy.

#165 - DeAndre Jackson CB Iowa State (#179)

#187 - Zak DeOssie ILB Brown (#183)

#219 - Kyle Young C Fresno State (#218)

I saw him against Oregon, he wasn't a bad looking kid, though I think bit overvalued at 115. I don't remember him doing much as a receiver, but his N-S running had some punch.

These rules sure yield some attractive drafts....

24: Reggie Nelson, S, Florida
28: Jarvis Moss, DE/OLB, Florida
TRADE: Pats send #60 and #165 to Vikings for #72 and #102
72: Brian Leonard RB/HB, Rutgers
91: Chansi Stuckey, WR, Clemson
102: Stewart Bradley, ILB, Nebraska
123: Syvelle Newton, WR, South Carolina
187: DeAndre Jackson, CB, Iowa State
219: Matt Gutierrez, QB, Idaho State

I'm interested that so few entries in either game include a QB. That would seem to be a wide-open slot -- entering year 3 Cassel no longer counts as the raw kid who needs a vet behind him.

Thanks.

I've seen him rated about the same as Darius Walker. I like Walker but he's more of a Chris Perry type of back. I think the need to find a replacement for Dillon is a higher priority than the need to replace Faulk because I think Dillon is closer to the end and I believe Maroney will pick up more and more of the passing game as time goes on, so I hope they take a flyer on a big back later in the draft.

Danny Ware is another guy who I like in the 5th or 6th round. Georgia was simply loaded at tailback but his kid is on the bigger side and only a junior. I think he can put size on and be a banger.

Reggie Nelson
Chris Houston
Anthony Gonzales
Stewart Bradley
Dwayne Wright
DeAndre Jackson
Zak Deossie
Kyle Young

I'd be quite happy with that.

If it weren't for his lack of speed -- he'd probably be higher ranked.

I've seen him twice and no doubt he has the power to succeed as that style of back. His vision and hands also stand out...making it easier for him to stick on someone's roster.
