Five win season. If we had a franchise LT and an explosive wideout, then ten wins.

It’s a two-year rebuild. And that’s just the offense.

Everyone better learn about Will Campbell, LSU’s stud LT, for next year’s draft. A way better prospect than too tall and stiff Joe Alt.

Will Campbell is KEY for the Patriots’ franchise health.

I think can beat Bengals week 1, Seahawks, jets . That's 3 wins there. They had 4 wins last season with the greatest to ever do it, a ****ty QB room.

The QB position and the offense was revamped. But you have them at 1-7.. ?

I would hope they can do better than 1-7, but how do they beat the Bengals were were 9–8 last year and get Joe Burrow back? The Seahawks had the same record last year. So maybe the Jets who went 7-10, but they, unlike the Patriots, got a stud OL in Fashanu and maybe a player maker WR in Corely in the draft and will get their QB back.

The Patriots schedule is brutal / insane / not fair; they could easily start the season at 0-8 or 1-7; it would be a hard to bear, especially listening to the douche bag radio jocks who love to rag on the Patriots.

The trick is not to listen.

Are the Patriots favored to win?

To win the Big Game, the Pats' odds are next to last on the title board, sitting above only the Carolina Panthers (+25000). To win the AFC and the AFC East, New England's odds are last on the board. Along with the Panthers, the Patriots' win total of 4.5 is the lowest in the league.May 7, 2024. How's this. You are gonna be so RICH!

If the 90’s team with way more talent struggles to get 8 wins by 1999, you know this team has no business getting 9 wins with their roster, coaching and schedule.

This is a 4-6 win team, but I’d be fine with players building off of last season like Barmore, seeing promise in the rookies and hopefully seeing Gonzalez is a top flight CB.

Burrow will need to show he's 100% from that arm injury. I don't believe he is. Also as great as he is he's not lighting up this defense.. neither is Geno Smith or Rodgers. This patriots defense is elite. They were built to contain high octane offenses. Think about this. We are not going to sit back and allow Burrow or Rodgers to drop bombs. He will not have time to throw with the heat our front 7 gets on QBs.. Also he's coming off a serious Achilles. So I have us 3-0 to start the season. Just my premonition.

I think they lose that Thursday night game. I hate Rodgers, but that Jets team is talented and I think they’ll be tough out of the gate. That may change as the year goes on and they either deal with injuries or someone comes up with a scheme to slow them down. But I’m not confident in a Week 3 win at all, especially on the road on a short week.

Rodgers is coming off a serious injury and will be 40.. I'm not underestimating him. But I have more faith especially early on in the season that the defense will be carry the team while the offense comes along.. gonzo takes away Wilson, the heat the front seven gets will test Rodgers in the pocket. Breece hall will be shut down so those are his 2 primary weapons right there. I say patriots defense can contain these offenses.

Lol, I admire your optimism. I just think they’ll overtake Miami this year (three teams likely won’t win 10 games and I don’t see Buffalo dropping off), and I think they’ll be a thorn in New England’s side until they eventually turn a corner.

Lol, we've had our way with them last several seasons. I love us being counted put, no expectations I believe it's better for the team. With all the questions we may have on this team. For some reason I feel they are in better position now then the past 4 seasons. Call it my patriots optimism. But when you look at the particulars the defense is full of guys with pride that want to get the taste of last season out their mouth. We have defense that is legit at every level. It's just hard for me to see offenses lighting them up.

Personally I saw enough from gonzo in 3 games to see he is an ascending future all pro. He just needs to remain healthy and continue his lock down play. I've given up making a win prediction. All I know is this team will shock people this season.

Rodgers won’t last 6 games before he gets another injury where he sits out several games or the entire season. I felt the same last year before the season as well. We’ll see.

That statement was meant in comparison to Mac Jones and Bailey Zappe. I feel like those games where they couldn't even get to 10 points, those three contests were good examples of how it could have gone differently with Brissett under center.

I like Brissett. He’s a nice bridge and a tough, smart player, but if he gave them average starting QB play I’d be thrilled.

I’m thinking 5-6 wins because the overall roster talent still has a long way to go and the offense will need time to gel. OL and receivers still need work. BB the GM is gone but so is BB the coach. That and a tough schedule make this a tough year.

Drake Maye’s development might be the most important event of the season.

At a minimum the team should be much more competitive, even if the record does not improve to nine games. Last years offense looked so pathetic because of the way the season played out. Despite the injuries on the OL the offense looked pretty good against Philly, including the QB. After that Mac began to unravel and make mind blowing mistakes at the worse possible time causing the offense to go down the tubes. Zappe was equally bad, cementing the perception of the offense. With some new players and a fresh start things should look much better this year.

Once you start getting injury issues and your an older player it's never a good thing. People have in thier minds the Rodgers in green bay. He didn't look that great in NY before he got hurt. Coming off an injury going against our front I don't think Saleh has him dropping back to often.

Agreed. Mac didn't trust bill or what the offense was trying to coach him anymore after the relationship soured. So that translated to the field he didn't trust what he was seeing and was throwing picks. Brissett is a stable option ar QB who can execute the offense and move the chains. Even though I personally feel Drake will win the starting job. I like Brissett here.

And he didn’t look that great his last year in GB….his numbers weee off in every category. And then let me sit in a dark box for days / weeks and come out better than ever…wrong. An athlete has to continue to be active especially as they get older. Unless he’s going to inject or pop something to enhance his muscles and ligaments…he’s going to be toast more sooner than later. He’ll be 41 this season.

Agree 100%. Not everyone is TB12 or Ricky Henderson that can play into their 40s at a high level these days. I just believe people are thinking they are getting the HOF version of him.

I just don't see it. Now will he be awful problem not.. but as you stated his play declined his last season in GB. Unless he's hired Alex Guerrero or some Benjamin button potion I need to see a 4,5 game sample of him this season.

I don't think that was it. It was less Mac not trusting Bill, and more him and the offense as a whole in 2022 not being comfortable with them implementing a system that none of the coaches had any experience in. Brian Hoyer talked about it this week again on a podcast with Curran, it was an absolute mess. Offensive linemen couldn't get up to speed on the scheme, with defensive guys coming through the line free, raising their hand like, "is anyone going to block me?"

Add in the fact that Bill wasn't pleased when Mac started openly criticizing Belichick's guys - and I'm sure some things were probably said internally that also got back to him - and I think that was where it really turned. From Mac's standpoint, it's tough to come back from. I think it's like any situation where if you come to work every day and your boss is either cold or indifferent towards you, it makes it difficult to operate at your highest level, at least when you're a twenty-something-year-old kid playing the most important position in the game.

So add that in, along with the fact that any turnover could put you on the sideline, and it was just a bad situation.

However, that's water under the bridge. New QB, new offensive system with a guy who, by all accounts, has a good reputation among every quarterback he's ever worked with. Hopefully Maye ultimately becomes into who they need him to be and this story ends a little better.

The relationship was irreparable by the time Billy O came back. Mac didn't trust bill, bill didn't trust Mac. The HC/QB relationship has to be there. In order for there to be some type of fluency that permeates to success. I agree with you. But I tend to lean more on the side the bill/Mac relationship. That was the undoing. Not to rehash as we all lived it unfortunately.

I'm with you Ian, I feel great about maye, and I believe he's special. For some reason I just get the feeling that wolf will always do the best job at identifying talent and trying to pay guys. As we know alot of this has to do with being what 29th or something in spending?
