NEW ARTICLE: 2024 Patriots Season Prediction: A Surprising 9-Win Season With a Dramatic Finish

Brissett has been QB1 for the majority (15,15,11 starts) of games during 3 seasons of his career.
I get what you're saying, but again, I'm comparing him to Jones and Zappe. It's a considerable upgrade in that context.

LOL, and I hear you on the "fun" part. It's May and writing "they suck" wasn't quite as fun.

Left Tackle. D.O.A season. I tossed any chance of a winning season in 2024 already. This is a rebuild they told us. They told me the first pick for the patriots has to be a qb first no matter what. We did. So 9 wins to me is not likely. Lotta all pro would have to emerge from this draft.

If we get just a reasonable number of breaks in terms of injuries and calls (unlike the past 2 seasons), then 9 wins isn't out of reach, though I see them coming differently.
- I like the prediction of starting 2-0, catching Cincinatti unprepared
- I'd say 2-4 in the division
- I think we can beat AZ after our bye, and I like our chances in London vs Jax.
- Can we win 3 of 5 @Tenn, @Chi, and home vs Indy-Rams-Chargers? I think so.

@archstanton543 so it's not possible?

Saved me 17 Sundays, just like that. Nice work. @Ian I'll be in the deer stand if anyone needs me.

Following each of those 3 seasons, the team has either replaced or cut Brissett with zero starts in any of the subsequent seasons.
Your "breath of fresh air" starter costs a paltry $8 mill ....which is almost double what his last employer who happily moved on was paying.
Tip of the cap to Brissett's agent for locating an inexperienced regime willing to pay up for a JAG starter/stable pony

I'm having fun....about as much fun as the Cam Newton glory year
How many times did you cringe watching the QB play last season? I lost count. Some fans here have seem have forgotten... Brissett is here to mentor Drake, run the AVP offense and by far better option than Bailey Jones. Russell Wilson had 24 TDs- 8 INTS last season in Denver. Had we gotten that last season we'd have been a playoff team.

Thanks for the positive vibes Ian. Is what you wrote possible? Hell yeah!

Most forecasters have the Pat's with another dismal season and I think they're wrong. Last year our QB play was about as bad as it could get along with a receiving core that wasn't much better. Then on top of that we had major injuries to both sides of the ball, a patchwork OL and Bad stuff happening that just went on and on. Can we get a repeat of the bad stuff? Of course, but I think the probabilities of this crap not happening to the Patriots again are in our favor.

I'm old enough to remember "The Impossible Dream" so anything can happen and OBTW could we get a split with the Jets and Miami instead of sweeping Miami and getting swept by the Jets?

A agree. @Ian Always gives us the positivity here! Last year as you perfectly said was a perfect storm of disaster. The eagles game Mac played well and with confidence. That clearly disappeared as the season wore on. We all watched every game, it's baffling to me some posters act like QB wasn't the root of the problem. As great as burrow Allen and burrow, Mahomes are they had struggles but they are elite QBs and we're able to carry thier offenses. Last season our QBs couldn't carry a jock strap.

We know the O line wasn't great, the WR play underwhelmed outside pop and KB.. had we had solid QB play we would have been a contender.

Do what you want. I watch every game win, lose or draw. If you don't want to watch, don't watch. If you want to watch, watch.

I wouldn’t say contender. A better word might be competitive…but I wouldn’t go much further. Losing Meyers killed them and Smith-Schuster’s situation only complicated things further. They would probably have won 8 or 9 games, but they didn’t have the horses to get much farther than that, even with a better quarterback.

Ian,

Here's why I say contender. They were in each game last season save for Dallas and saints wich were blow outs. So when I say contender meaning a post season birth. Heck Pittsburgh made it to the post season and I'm not sure Mason Rudolph was any better than Mac or zap last season. The defense more than held there own. The QB position is what doomed them. I had to eventually come around to accept this as I was a big fan of Mac. Moderate play at the position would have had them contending for a play off birth at the least not saying they were a superbowl team.

9 wins? I think IIRC he had like 12 for the past couple of seasons. Ian is showing restraint !

Reactions: Ian
I'd be more suprised going 0-8 than getting 9 wins..
So who are they going to beat in those first 8 games? Maybe Jacksonville will get jet lag on the way to the UK. SO OK, maybe they will go 1-7

I think can beat Bengals week 1, Seahawks, jets . That's 3 wins there. They had 4 wins last season with the greatest to ever do it, a ****ty QB room.

The QB position and the offense was revamped. But you have them at 1-7.. ?
