It's PFF . but this one makes sense . sort of (since it favours passing play and disregards the context of complementary football).

Still its good to see Pats had . and more importantly - still have . most productive group . and see who makes the 5-man group; Id guess Dola's name might surprise people but it shouldn't.

Adding Cooks, Gill & Burk shouldn't hurt Pats chances of repeating this little statistic bit . the Q is who will make the top 5 list on the 2017 #1 ranked group?

Those numbers confirm to us what we probably already knew, but didn't know how to quantify, and that is: we had probably the best season from WRs since 2007, in terms of both production and depth.

Which makes Bill's insistence on acquiring Brandon Cooks, at first for Malcolm Butler and then finally for the cost of BOTH 1st- AND 3rd-round draft picks, that much more puzzling.

2 reasons I think 1) trouble with very good man to man coverage and 2) that grouping is not nearly as potent if Edelman was injured.

It's no mystery why that kind of explosive passing game returned once the Pats brought in a guy that was capable of taking the top off the defense again. Defenses could no longer play the Pats as if they were constantly in the red zone and the result was a Super Bowl win even in spite of losing the GOAT TE and, by far, their biggest threat in the receiving corps. Now the Pats have two of those guys, plus Edelman, Amendola, Gronk, Lewis, and White.

Not puzzling to me. Edelman and Dola are 31. They won't play forever.
