NE@BUF post-game (over)reaction thread

Yes he was target 2 times resulting in 0 catches

Did Collins get in....And who replaced Spikes when he was out

A win is a win but its tough to feel good about this win considering they were playing a bad team with a rookie QB. Defense was okay but the offense was just bad. All the pats had for receivers is Amendola and Edelman which is pretty scary. Pats were lucky they were playing the bills today.

1) As I watched this game, all I could think is we have too many damn rookies(Thompkins, Sudfeld not ready for prime time)
2) Edelman played great but does anyone feel secure if this is your go to guy-has he ever completed a full season?
3) Amendola is a little better than WWW but injuries are a constant concern
3) D played good hold em but I don't recall seeing a single sack. Is there O line really that good or do we have a pass rush problem?
4) Arrington plays great in the slot, let us pray that Dennard doesnt go to prison
5) It would be nice to have our 2 TE's back. Those guys were literally unstoppable.
6) Why didn't we just pay Mesko? Another rookie who gives me chest pain-Allen
7) Ridley has a fumbling problem and it's not going away, Vereen is better, quicker, and not a damn fumbler

Not a pretty win, but on the road against a tough D, I'll take it. Lotta question marks though. We need a healthy Gronk back.

Won a division road game. Played good D, ran the ball well, threw for close to 300 yards. Won a division road game.

This, really, is it. Lots and lots to work on, obviously. But two huge errors that were completely unforced: the Ridley fumble when he was totally untouched, and then the Brady fumbled snap on the 1-yard line. That's 14 points right there. I know you never know what will happen after those plays if they don't take place, but really, the Pats should have won this game about 30-14. Then it feels a little different than it does now.

I know, mistakes happen, but those were completely unforced errors.

...and by the way, I'll be crying into a bowl of Cheerios tomorrow morning as I lament the loss of Wes "The Indestructible Hobbit" Welker.

== NOT ACTIVE ==
RB 33 L.Washington

...and that may not be the last time.

Check out the stats: the Patriots only returned 2 kicks in the game, the Bills 1 -- and that 1 was only because the KR fumbled what was intended to be a catch & kneel-down in the endzone. Hard to justify a dedicated position for a KR on the active roster in today's game.

I know, mistakes happen, but those were completely unforced errors.

And if the rookies improve with time, and the team eliminates those unforced errors, they will be ok.

If they don't, they won't.

I think it's safe to say the issues were all because PatsNutsMe didn't start the game thread.

Stats:

Total Yards:
- NE: 431
- Buf: 286

Time of Possession:
- NE: 37:43
- Buf: 22:17

First Downs:
- NE: 26
- Buf: 15

Turnovers:
- NE: 3 (two unforced)
- Buf: 2

So the Pats pretty much dominated the stat sheet, they should have won this game by more than 2 TDs, but weird things happened and they had to make some plays at the end to win. That's ok. Fix the correctable errors and move on.

He did not register a statistic, I believe he played special teams and that’s all. I think they remained in a sub package while Spikes was out.

Vellano was the only rookie defender to register a statistic, he had 2 tackles, 1 of them for a loss.

You wanted him to get shanked before the game?

Let's try this again:

My hatred for Hernandez grew.

I do not call for violence against anyone. Even when I say I root for the asteroid, I'm not actually rooting for anyone to get injured.

Thanks.....

Manuel: 150 yards passing, 5.6 yards per pass attempt.

McCourty had to of had a great game today. No big plays today and he was invisible as the deep safety.

He was late on (IIRC) S. Johnson's TD reception. Other than that he seemed fine.

I could only Red Zone the game so saw very few plays.
Question: Did any draft picks from the '13 class play any non special team downs?

Buchanan got some snaps at DE (they moved Jones inside on one third down). Boyce got a few snaps, had a ball thrown to him. Thats's all I saw (won't claim I saw everyone)

The Riddly fumble cost us 10 and most likely 14. With the momentum we had at the time of the fumble it shoulda been a blowout.

Spiller 2.4 yards per attempt.

The defense did their job except for the blown coverage on the TD at the beginning of the half and letting Fred Jackson break off a few decent runs. Can't expect them to be perfect but the fact is that they literally were only responsible for 7 points.

Chill out buddy! I was joking around, both about with my original call for violence and my response to you.

11 thoughts after a hard earned vicotry:

1. The Brady-Amendola show was incredible.
2. Good to see Ghost kick to win a game.
3. Edelman contributed, but cannot let touchdowns go through his hands.
4. Nice job by Vereen in a surprise fill-in role.
5. The passing game will struggle unless and until the rookies get up to speed.
6. Turning the receiving corps over to rookies is on BB.
7. I cannot fathom what they see in Hooman. We need a TE.
8. Ridley will return but he has used up all his lives.
9. Blount is no Brandon Bolden.

A decent effort from the defense, but:
10. The pass rush looks a lot like last year. Those looking for a big step up from Jones are still looking. I didn't notice Collins either.
11. Wilfork should never be on the field on passing downs. We need another DT to spell him.
