N’Keal Harry Requests Trade

He wasn’t even a guy who got open in college. He used his body to make contested catches over PAC-12 corners who are now probably out there selling insurance.
2019 scouting report...

Weaknesses:
Lacks speed
Not twitchy
Not explosive
Not fast in and out of breaks
Won't separate from NFL corners with route-running

And yet BB drafted him in the first round… What a waste

It's a reasonable request, maybe they can trade him for another player who isn't flashing in that other team as well. I hope things change in this offense with Mac, at a certain point, for any 1st round grade WR, to be drafted by the Patriots wasn't exactly a dream come true for a young guy wanting to put up great numbers and sign a massive contract. This was never a thing with this team even in a hypothetical scenario of the WR working out.

He would probably do better with Big Ben or maybe Carlson Wentz, trading him inside the conference is not an issue. Maybe Seattle is a good fit as well. I just don't give a F. Trade his azz.

Sure, and they had him ranked 6th in the class.

They also had Parris Campbell at number 2 and Marquis Brown (meh) at number 3..with Riley Ridley at 7 right behind Harry, and Hakeem Butler at #8...Kelvin Harmon at #9, JJ Arceda Whiteside at 10...

So it's kind of a crap shoot, yes?

Unless I’m overlooking someone, there’s a real good chance that only Damian Harris will remain from the 2019 draft class once the roster is cutdown to 53.

Cue the “20 years of success“ argument, but that makes the failure of that draft and other recent drafts all the worse because we know they’re better than this. If Bill answered questions from us mere mortals, I’d love to know what he saw in Harry that year- JoeJuan as well. None of us has seen anything approaching players deserving to be drafted that high in the 2 seasons since they were drafted.

No

Harry falls in one of two categories:

1. He’s had enough with the way they want to use him with jet sweeps, run blocking and running too short of routes.

2. He’s a mental midget and is upset he’s not coddled anymore with the recent signings of Agholor and Bourne.

That seems to be a little over the top. The top 10 roster projection Google results over the last month (eight writers I recognize and two I don't) average 4.9 2019 draft picks per projection. Even if today's Harry news changed things and he's removed from all six of the projections including him, it's still an average of 4.3. All 10 projections include Harris, Winovich, and Bailey, while Harry, Williams, and Stidham each made six appearances and Cowart made one.

Still, he does fit with Bill's early round DBs. Big, slow, physically imposing, but unable to actually play. I guess it's just one of Bill's blind spots.

"Crap shoot"
So, what? 6 rings vs 2.

I am OK with trading him for a 4th at worst….or another player that is also underachieving their draft status… otherwise, I’d rather see us keep him around…let it all play out. We have nothing to lose at this point…he was in real danger of being released in August…what team would trade for him? Can we even get a 4?
