Cousins = Big Game Choker no thanks.
Gotta make it to a big game to choke it away. The Pats won't be in one for a while.

I didn't say don't criticize him. Criticize him all you want. I'm saying that press conferences don't matter.
Yes I'm with you on that. I will always appreciate all he's done, everything he's meant for the organization and the region. Sometimes I'd just wish he'd give more... meaning say more.. like when he's asked about special teams, NFL history or NAVY.

You actually are defending those vultures by your response.
Legitimate criticism is fine - but ripping a coach for protecting a player with something that is actually none of our damn business is doing nothing but perpetuating this.
No one is ripping BB.. I'm not defending the media. I'm simply saying can he answer a question more respectfully, it's almost like he's sending a message of he's too good to speak with the media. I don't see any other HC in the league do this. Of course certain things he's not going to speak on.. he has no problem speaking endlessly when it comes to lacrosse, Navy or special teams. I think we on the forum have given him legitimate criticism I know I have in past post. However not taking anything away from how great he's been. Just my opinion that's all.

Who is ripping him?

Take the QB, sit him on the pine for the year, and address the OL as much as possible over the 2 offseasons.

When he's asked about those things, he talks. He's very willing to talk about things that don't concern giving information about player weakness, strategies, blaming others.

Personally, I am telling I love how he does it. He is consistent. He keeps it in house. This creates and preserves culture if you know your coach isn't going to throw you under the bus.

He's a man of substance, not flash. Rex can talk all he wants, but he's a joke.

I think if they solidify the team in the draft then Zappe will have more support and we will find out if he improves over time. If we blow our wad on a crap shoot draft pick QB and neglect rebuilding then I think the odds are we lose.
They have nearly $100M in cap space this year and far more the next two years. There is no reason they can't get the QB and do significant rebuilding.

Drafting a QB makes financial sense too you're paying $25-30 million a year now maybe even more in some cases for a 16-24th ranked QB who doesn't guarantee you anything, you can get Tee Higgins and a rookie QB in the top 3 for considerably cheaper than say Marvin Harrison Jr and Baker Mayfield.

draft offense on day1 and day 2
select no ST only players
this would be a good start since the offense free agents are rarely good classes at OT and WR or QB
And top defenses can't lead a team like a competent offense can
A lot of us expected something similar last draft. Except Gonzalez in the first.

Going defense in the third and moving up to get a failing kicker in the fourth with this disgusting offense is enough to fire the GM. Total incompetence.

Yes. Either he is veto-ing a good recommendation or rubber-stamping a crappy one.
He is a football genius. When experts feel they mastered everything they tend not to take advice or advicement like a president not listening to his advisor. He being the HC as well he likes feels there is no on that knows the roster better than him. Look at the state of the roster currently. I don't put the injuries on him but everything is his doing.

In the 4th round at that.. should have just kept Nick around for another season.

Below are most of the QB's taken in the last 10 drafts. The question is whether to always pick a QB when you have a top-3 pick.
- I count 14 of the picks as excellent: Goff (1st), Prescott (135th), Mahomes (10th), Watson (12th), Allen (7th), Jackson (32nd), Murray (1st), Burrow (1st), Tua (5th), Herbert (6th), Hurts (53th), Lawrence (1st), Purdy (262nd), Stroud (2nd). Recap: 1, 1, 1, 1, 2, 5, 6, 7, 10, 12, 32, 53, 135, 262 (six from picks 1-5, four from picks 6 to 12, four from picks 32 to 262)
- I count 11 more as solid starters: JimmyG (62), Carr (36), Mayfield (1), D Jones (6), Minshew (178), Love (26), Fields (11), Howell (144), Young (1), Richardson (4), Levis (33). Recap: 1, 1, 4, 6, 11, 26, 33, 36, 62, 144, 178 (for from picks 1-6, four from 11 to 36, three from 62 to 178)
Also, in 3 of the past 10 drafts there were no good QB's near the top: 2014, 2015, 2022 (and 2016 only had Goff).
