Is this a concern or simply a day off since he didn't take his normal Wednesday off?

Moss missing at practice - Extra Points - Boston.com

Randy Moss was not present at the portion of Patriots practice open to the media today. Moss has been a full participant at practice and has not been on the injury report all week, but yesterday he limped out of the locker room, and on Wednesday he had his knees heavily wrapped in ice.

Also, reserve offensive lineman Dan Connolly was not at practice for the third straight day.

Shouldn't that be qualified as missing from the media portion of practice... could have been excused, no need for hysteria... yet.

Moss usually got Wednesdays off this year, probably for veteran rest for a guy who is getting older and has back issues. This week with Welker out and a big playof game coming up, Wednesday was too important (where they reveal the gameplan) for him to miss, so he gets Friday off to rest instead.

Just my guess.

First the bags of ice on both knees and now missing practice,I was relieved when hearing those bags on the knees were common practice by some of you...now I am not so sure it was that case.

I feel the same way, just wanted to get others thoughts out there.

Randy is playing. The limping is a concern, but he'll be out there for sure.

Moss at 60% it better then 80% of other WR's. He'll be fine.

The ice on the knees and the missing practice don't concern me but the limping does.

From experience, not playing football but running, you get a bit of a sore knee, so you ice it down a lot. For a while after, the knee is weaker than before the icing, but afterward recovers to full or near full strength (hope, hope, hope...).

BostonHerald.com - Blogs: Rap Sheet Blog Archive Patriots QB Tom Brady thinks Randy Moss will “be fine”

Bigger issue is that his stats w/o WW have been awful. Needs to hit a big one against a mediocre CB.

Moss has been in the league 12 yrs and averaged 1,200 yds per season. He played his 1st 9 yrs w/out Welker and he did ok. In addition he had 10 for 116 receiving vs Atlanta (9/27) this season w/no Welker. He did get shut down vs Jets (4 for 24) because of Revis and them rolling coverage to his side because of no Welker but that was the 2nd game of the season. Now, Edelman is more experienced and Brady a lot less rusty. I don't see any CB on the Ravens even remotely close to being able to accomplish what Revis and Jets did vs Randy.

Anyone ever consider that some of these players just limp around when they walk naturally?

I think they're confusing jive-walking with limping. Crazy honkies.

Maybe the ice around his knees made him limp.....
