Mort Reports Von Miller is going to be suspended for at least 6 games

So they lose Miller who will be out the same time as a PUP would and they have lost Derek Wolfe indefinately who had a nice rookie campaign.

They have possibly lost Champ Bailey for the season as well.

Suddenly San Diego and Oakland have a chance in the West

Dumervil too. Peyton's going to have to carry this team for long stretches, because that defense, minus Champ, Dumervil, and Miller, is going to be really bad.

1) They play @NYG week 2 and I'm absolutely shocked that NBC didn't get that game.

That's because CBS protected that one. Besides NBC probably got the better game in 49ers/Seahawks anyways.

CBS is actually taking a hit that weekend, lost Pats/Jets to Thursday and Bengals/Steelers to Monday.

2 games that would do big ratings for CBS.

Probably had to give up Pats/Jets and Bengals/Steelers just to keep it.

Taking another player down with him?

How would that help Miller? If there was another player that was also doing PEDs, why would the NFL be scared to take him down too?

Was just thinking out loud

Might be a case of Miller did Drug XYZ with some guy who's also in the NFL, the league didn't know about it so Miller used the name as a bargaining chip. Long shot, but somewhat plausible.

This. If the rule calls for an 8 game suspension, why does he have the right to reduce that?

...because he plays on Manning's team...

They lost a talent for sure. He is going to pay the price and I'm fine with that. Serve the suspension and come back. Gotta question how effective he will be the longer he stays away from the stuff? He is a light 250 and not very effective against the run as it is. I hope the Pats run it right at him to test this theory. Probably still a excellent pass rusher though.

I'm glad everyone thinks the Broncos are going to really struggle during the regular season. Too bad you are way off. The Broncos will barely miss a beat with Peyton Manning at QB, just like Brady is an automatic 12+ wins each year. With Welker on the team, I expect Denver to have the best offense in football, and Manning, like Brady, is no stranger to carrying a team on his back. Now, had these losses/injuries to Welker, Miller, Wolfe, and Bailey been season ending, that would be one thing, but Welker has a garden variety sprained ankle and Bailey will probably be back for the opener. Miller will be back at some point at full health.

Now, come playoff time, we'll see. The Broncos might be very one-dimensional and survive only on an elite passing game, while other areas are not good. We've seen the Patriots, Packers, Saints, and others cruise through the regular season looking unstoppable only to be smacked in the face by a more physical team in the playoffs.

The Pats have Brady and Belichick. The Broncos have Manning and John Fox. Brady and Belichick together guarantee 10-12 wins. I don't know if Manning and Fox do unless their schedule is as cake as last year.

I am not sure Manning can carry a team any more with his declining arm. The Broncos should win the AFC West with double digit wins, but there are definitely no guarantees.

With this latest news, Peyton Manning is now trying to jinx other teams offenses.

I wouldn’t sleep on KC either; Alex Smith is not a stud but he is an excellent game manager who is very efficient in the pass game, they have an all pro RB, a good WR, and their defense is loaded.

Charles – RB
Bowe – WR
Albert – LT
Fisher – RT

Berry – SS
Houston – OLB
Hali – OLB
Poe – DT
Jackson – DE
S. Smith – CB
Robinson – CB
Flowers – CB

I saw some criticism of Fisher saying that he has balance issues which really surprised me because he was lights out at the Senior Bowl. Don't know how accurate the criticism is.

He's writing a note to himself on his invisible typewriter.

"Don't throw game killing interceptions in the playoffs."

If he gets the 6 games:

Oakland
Philly
Jacksonville

That's still 3 locks.

Baltimore
Giants
Dallas

Even if they go 1-2 with that trio, they're 4-2 after the 6 games, should still win 10+ games and their division.

Much like the Patriots, it should be all about the playoffs for Denver.
