From his Twitter:

Von Miller's suspension for violation of the league's substance policy is expected to be at least six games, per sources.

if true, this is a huge blow for the Broncos. Even bigger than expected.

Don't know how the Broncos can be AFC favorites anymore with their injuries piling up and Miller gone for a third of the season.

So they lose Miller who will be out the same time as a PUP would and they have lost Derek Wolfe indefinately who had a nice rookie campaign.

They have possibly lost Champ Bailey for the season as well.

Suddenly San Diego and Oakland have a chance in the West

Is there a possibility he gets a game or 2 added onto that for his off-field incident too?

Big loss for Denver, especially with the mess up with Dumervil! Who will provide pass rush for them now?

All things considered, they'll probably be like the Saints from last year for those six weeks. A top 3 offense and a bottom 3 defense. We'll see if they can get away with that.

With Von out:

-One of the worst D-lines in the NFL.
-One of the worst LB cores in the NFL.
-A secondary with grandpa as their #1 CB and mediocre safeties.

This is the equivalent of removing Big Vince from our already bad 2011 defense, not pretty.

They've lost their share too.

Don't sleep on KC. I think they may have the best shot at competing for the division. They now at least have an ok QB and getting back several key pieces they lost early last year.

Albert Breer is reporting that was originally an eight game suspension negotiated down to six and Miller is trying to negotiate it further down to four games. His arrest had nothing to do with the suspension.

Looks like his best case scenario is a four game suspension, but likely a six game suspension.

I have Kansas City winning the West and this was before today's announcement that Miller's suspension was going to be 6 games and when Wolfe got nicked up last week.

This is just getting better.

Oh and for those that love the Texans - as expected, Arian Foster is already an old man because of overuse.

Seems just a tad bit weird that he got to negotiate at all.

Looking at the Broncos schedule for the first 6 games:

1) They play @NYG week 2 and I'm absolutely shocked that NBC didn't get that game.

2) They have 2 layups vs Jacksonville and Oakland at home. Tough games vs Baltimore to open and @NYG and @Dallas, and I don't know what to make about Philly yet.

Looking past the first 6 if KC can be any threat this year they have a pretty tough stretch:

@Ind, Wash, @SD, KC, @NE, @KC, (easy home game vs TN), SD, @Hou

It was supposedly to be for a missed test which is equal to a fail. Maybe he provided enough evidence that he deserved some kind of a break.

This. If the rule calls for an 8 game suspension, why does he have the right to reduce that? And usually during a negotiation, the other side has to have something to gain by giving in a little on one thing. The player, in this case, has to have some leverage, or why would the league give in? But what leverage did Miller have?

NBC didn't get the Broncos/Giants game because the Broncos are already on NBC three times - vs. Baltimore, vs. Indy (Manning's first return to Indy since he was cut), and vs. the Pats. Which one of those would you send back to CBS for the Giants' game?

The baltimore game.

Payton vs Eli is something you will only see again if its the superbowl.

That's a great question. I think the Manning v. Manning angle is huge. But all three of those other ones are huge too. I think I'd not have the Broncos/Ravens game, despite it's obvious appeal, but clearly that's locked in as the opening game of the year.

I would literally rather watch paint dry.

Good point. I wonder if the initial plan was for that game to be on NBC instead of Broncos Ravens but making the Ravens open at Denver changed it.
