[Mod Edit:] Board Issues/Reaction Issues Thread

I know. But who demanded it?

@Tunescribe said Deus requested it. And I believe him. But lots of "your side" were really pushing Ian and pink hat girl to muzzle anything Brady.

THAT is all I was saying. Pointing at all of the Bradyites as needing a safe space is just not accurate. It was the sensitive people on the other side. And Deus, apparently.
What does Brady have to do with the state of the defensive backs...nothing, nothing at all.

Someone could start a thread about cheerleaders uniforms and it would become a btchfest that the sacred cow was no longer here.

The answer to every single question Patriot related going forward for the next hundred years can't be "Tom," because it's simply annoying and untrue.

Deus never requested the Brady board as far as I can remember. Maybe he did and I missed it or he did it via DM. The people whose happiness is way too wrapped up in this team, the people who spent all offseason here instead of enjoying their spring and summer, *****ed a lot about the single thread. Then it got turned into a board. As I recall, Deus was usually critical that the sub-forum even needed to exist.
It was never requested. I did it so people could talk about Brady and the Bucs without it taking up space on the main board and dismissed it as not a big deal until it became this bizarre polarizing thing.

I don’t get it considering the guy played here for 20yrs, but listening to talk radio, it made it easy to see where a lot of that came from. Just ridiculous.

Because the people you’re trying to please can’t be pleased. So don’t try to please them.

I agree, LOL.

All I was saying is WHO needed the safe space. For better or worse, those who answer what they want for breakfast with "BRADY!" didn't need a safe space. They were happy to ejaculate their Brady seed here. Others needed to be protected from it.

Yep. It’s not you. It’s the “zealots” who “dragged you,” the picture of perfection with a great and rewarding social life, into “conversations that derail threads.” It’s their fault in the first place. Not yours. After all, you were simply responding.

It’s everyone else who are the problem. It’s definitely not you.
I literally admit to my responsibility in the post you're responding ^ to here... a little situational awareness buddy.

I get that you don't actually read responses and just zing off canned responses, but that's how acutely aware you are of things.

Like constantly knocking people who enjoy talking Patriots football on forums like this, implying we're losers while you post here incessantly... but you're somehow different... special. Laughable...

It was less at the time about pleasing anyone. It had to do with trying not to saturate the forum with Buccaneers threads. Rather than push them to the NFL forum, I figured that was easier.

But I also casually kept an eye on the team that year, for obvious reasons and felt like it made sense. I had actually planned on sunsetting that board now that he’s retired. Haven’t done it yet, but likely will at some point.

You didn’t admit it. You shifted the blame to other people and only blamed yourself for responding to them in the first place. In other words - “they are idiots and the only thing I need to stop doing is responding to them.” That’s not introspection. Here’s introspection:

1. Are these people actually not zealots?

2. Am I a zealot who is just simply going in the opposite direction they are?

3. Are these people making any actual points that I should think longer and harder about as opposed to just dismissing them offhand?

4. Is there a chance they could just simply be fans of the team, and that their fandom looks different than mine?

5. Am I inventing problems in my own head that don’t actually exist in real life?

6. Do I need more hobbies?

7. What can I do in order to make this a better place to discuss the team?

That’s introspection. Blaming everyone else but yourself for the root cause of the problem is not.

Some more questions you can ask, @Wozzy:

8. Am I an *******?

9. Are my kids a mess?

10. Is my wife a money-grubbing whore?

I was speaking to the “bizarre polarization” point. People complained in the 2020 Tompa Whateveritwascalled thread. You created a sub-forum. You conceivably did this to try to please those people who complained about the main board being “cluttered.” What happened? They weren’t pleased. It wasn’t enough. It will never be enough for them because their problems aren’t a sub-forum or a thread or a rule change away from being fixed. It runs much deeper than that. So stop trying. You’ve given them everything they need.

I took responsibility for my part in derailing threads. Period.

I'm not the one who insists on completely unrelated threads that Ty Law, Logan Mankins, Stephon Gilmore, Vince Wilfork, Seymour, Adam Vinitieri and the rest played no part in championships... that it was all one messiah who made all things possible, and every conversation must revert back to him. But pretend that's the case if you must, you have such a firm grip on things.

Like, again... we're all losers with no other things going on with our lives because we post here... but not you, you're different... special.

I'll see you here tomorrow...

You didn’t take responsibility in the least. You were just drawn in by the zealots and the idiots who are not real fans of the team like you are. It’s everyone else’s fault. It’s not yours.

I can unequivocally say that Logan Mankins played no part in winning a championship.

The rest were as valuable as anyone though.

You can't even admit you're part of the problem... but thanks for the life advice.

God you post here a lot, have you checked in on your life recently?

Yes. Yes, I am.

They are my greatest creations.

She's not really money-grubbing. So, I've got that going for me.

I actually feel better after some time on the couch of Dr. Kontra!
Part of my introspection was that I could be a textbook narcissist. My problem is that the world didn’t revolve around what some douchebag from Jacksonville Beach, Florida thinks. I didn’t have a monopoly on how to be a fan of a football team or how the world should be run, though I certainly thought I did. Helping in the creation of two people who forced me to think about people other than myself helped in that regard.

Yep. It’s all me. The guy who hasn’t posted here in almost a half a year. It’s not you in the least. You’re perfect. Never change.

Sure, half a year... you're constantly here telling us how you're never here posting.

I'll see you here tomorrow, at least if I check out the Brady pages.
