Mock draft game discussion thread

I went for Wilson on the basis that their existing Corners are aging and/or banged up.
Was very tempted to select Colt McCoy but I doubt Childress will move on the QB position with you know who still in limbo.

Jets don't deserve Golden Tate. Give em Demaryius Thomas instead. He could be the next Vernon Gholston, that's more their style.

He went to the Jags. As I predicted in my post-combine mock!

Haha, that's what I thought when I was voting for the Jets. Gotta be fair though.

---------------------------
If I'm the Vikings, I'd go BPA with Jahvid Best. He doesn't need to carry the load there, and can be the explosive player to get 10-15 touches a game. Chester Taylor is gone as well.

EDIT: Nice choice with Kyle Wilson. Seems like a good pick that fills a need. I forgot about the possibility of QB with Favre being 100 years old.

I received a PM from hammertime will post soon.

Your pick agrees with my prognostication.

McCoy will probably go early in round 2. And he might turn out as good or better than Bradford. Both Qbs have questions aboout their arm strength.

It looks like the Browns would be interested in McCoy in round 2 if he lasts that long.

"ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports that the Browns' interest in Colt McCoy is "real," and believes Mike Holmgren's club could use a second-round pick on the Texas alum.

Mort goes so far as to suggest Holmgren might package picks to select McCoy at the back end of round one. McCoy will be in Cleveland April 12-13 for a pre-draft visit. McCoy's stature and arm strength aren't impressive, but Holmgren may like his accuracy, winning background, and athleticism."

If Cleveland is really interested enough in McCoy to move up to round 1, I'd love for New England to trade back from #22 for Cleveland's 2nd and their 2011 1st.

In other news, BB talks up Tebow... so we're definitely NOT taking him!

Patriots coach Bill Belichick talked up Florida QB Tim Tebow at the owners meetings Tuesday.

"It's obvious that within the last six weeks, that he's worked on his mechanics and they've improved," Belichick said. "He's very coachable and he works very hard. Athletically, he tested very well at the Combine. My sense of Tim Tebow is that if you asked him to play nose (tackle), he'd play nose."

I'd vote Odrick to the Colts as well, much as it pains me to say it. There's no way he should slip this far, but apparently the Pats GM fell in love with some stubby kid from Michigan.

Sean Weatherspoon was selected by the Philadelphia Eagles at 24th pick.

Rams need help at defensive end since there is not much depth and Leonard Little is aging. James Hall has signed which helps. I just believe that Griffen is to good of a value at this point of the draft and we needed to address that position now.

We do? LOL, JK. Looks like a solid pick in the second. Griffen has a lot of potential. Too bad you flubbed that 1st round pick though. Hehe.

Who do you think the Rams will pick Suh or McCoy? LOL

Me too- Tate's a good choice for them.

BTW, I'm going to have to PM my pick to someone. I'll do the PM tomorrow at 3am Eastern if that's OK. I'm due to pick at 12pm Eastern, but that's 5pm here and I'll still be at work.

Can I just check the time on the East Coast at the moment? If he's not picking until 6pm, doesn't he have half an hour left, or have you put the clocks forward already?

Just informing you'll that I did not get the PM. So unless whoever has it posts later on this might be the stopping point tonight.

The Rams should take Suh but they'll probably take the overrated QB instead as you have mocked them.
Carriker is a bad fit for their defense. They blew that pick as well. But that's why they are the Rams!

I think Bradford is better for the Rams in the longterm, but the Rams could go 10-6 next year and excite fans with my epic plan!

1. Trade 3rd round pick for Mike Vick
2. Sign T.O
3. Draft Suh

That team immediately goes to trash to an exciting offense and improved defense.

Michael Vick, Steven Jackson, T.O, puts them back on the map.

You got that right. Tye Hill was a BUST.

I dont see the value in Vick. Our backup QB threw more yards then Vick did last season.

Well the short term impact of the Whitehurst trade is that the Seahawks won't be drafting a QB this year. They'll look to see what they have in Whitehurst first.

But it also means, they move down 20 spots in round 2... I'd expect them to look for a WR prospect but a lot of the good ones will be taken before they get to pick. They need to get a little lucky.

NM, I forgot they had 2 first round picks. Wow, that's a nice luxury to have.

I took the view that Pouncey is a better long-term bet for the Lions than the corners available at the top of the second. He is very highly rated on a lot of boards and can possibly be a Guard in the pros. The Lions' O line is average at best (and that's being kind!). Hopefully, this is a pick that will benefit their offence in general.

I thought about taking a corner, but didn't like what was available with the 34th pick. There are guys later on that I might consider, though.

I also think that the Lions will pull the trigger on Pacman; Jim Schwartz knows him well from his time at the Titans and it is telling that he is even agreeing to workouts. Also, they signed Chris Houston, so I think they can afford not to take a Corner this high.

Carlos Dunlap, he get's the locker right next to Vrabel. We really needed a NT and an edge rusher. We'll stay in the 43 and let Carlos play some end, till he is ready to stand up. Plus our linebackers s#ck so we have to give them as much help as possible, that means covering up the guards.

3 defensive ends taken out of the last 4 picks.
Still some DT/DE prospects available.
And a bunch of WRs still to be had.
