This looks awesome, as described in USA article see link below. I think ESPN will rejuvenate MNF in a way that a regular network never could.

I am sure their highlight packages and overall NFL discussions and banter will be great. NFL Networks coverage coupled with ESPN and regular network game day coverage is sure to provide us more coverage than ever. Speaking for football fanatics everywhere - it will never be too much or even enough.

I really like the radio pre game and pre broadcast coverage which begins at 3:00 PM. Means we can listen at work on commute home to get in the mood.

I knew you were going to say that.....I love the hype.

I hate Monday night football when they have the Patriots on . How much more of an "event" do yo have to make of a football game?

I like my football at either 1PM or 4PM on Sunday. If they were all 4PM then tha would be awesome.

Will they still be showing the Pats MNF games on regular television, like they would do with the Pats SNF games?

Thanks, yours truly,

I agree with you - I hate seeing Pats on MNF or Sunday nights (and now Thurs & Sat too), too much about the event and not enough about the game itself.

Well, some of us can ONLY see the Pats when they are on a nationally televised game, so bring them on!

How is monday night football on ESPN a good thing? You could combine the entire ESPN crew and if you were lucky would get one brain cell between them.

Yeah heaven forbid that a few of that espn crew get sick and we have to watch Hodge, Michael Irvin and Sean Salisbury all together at once. That would be pure hell. Salisbury would be the best analyst by default and that is a scary thing. usually they only throw one of those guys at you at a time and they are designated as the "biggest moron" of the group. 3 at once would be unbearable but could be entertaining.

it would be nice to watch sean and JOhn Clayton argue every halftime tho, that is the one thing they are good at.

I agree completely, no need for all of this in the NE, which has a lot of pregame shows on both the television and radio. There is no need to make this really great product greater, sometimes overkill kills.

Living out here in Asia, I love it when the Pats are on MNF or Saturday night. I get to see the game for sure on ESPN. If they're on at 1pm or 4pm I usually don't get to see the games unless I get really lucky.

What I really liked is the upcoming radio coverage starting at 3:00 PM on game day. This means several hours of NFL talk, review of previous days games, match up for upcoming game - all is new this year.

To me that beats Sawx talk (even on Patriot Mondays they still have way to much red sox) on the big zero's show anyday.

Then, after dinner, between NFL Channel and ESPN - there will be all the Pro football highlights and action one could ever ask for.

Maybe it is just me, but I shudder at the thought of ESPN football coverage. I like my coverage to have some sort of substance, and normally I have already heard the generic soundbytes about the Pats on their regular highlights reel.

But I guess if you like it, you'll enjoy more of it. They will certainly cover the 'Maurice Clarett' type of situations extensively. It would help if one of their yahoo meatheads was actually a Pats fan, or at least interested in the team.

ESPN already had Monday Morning Quarterback, so maybe they are just changing the time slot around.

Yes, at least in the Boston area. I'd guess any other other ABC affiliate in the NE area will also choose to carry the game against the Vikings.

I was surprised to see that the Pats first home preseason game is only on NFL Network? That bites!

I'm glad I will be at work for most of there insane amount of coverage. But as long as they stick to the football during the game and do not throw in a lot of special guest stars and crap like that. Let them do all the coverage they feel like. I certianly do not have to watch.

ESPN? What the heck is that? My black and white w/ rabbit ears seems to have failed me. I don't pick up squat!!!

Monday night football in my opinion will be worse this year...

Just look at the games...
1. Vikings @ redskins (Dud) /Chargers @ Raiders (Rivalry)
2. Steelers @ Jags (Ok)
3. Falcons @ saints (rivalry, playoffs, Dud)
4. Packers @ eagles (Dud)
5. Ravens @ Broncos (Dud)
6. Bears @ Cardinals (Dud)
7. Giants @ Cowboys (Rivalry,playoffs, Good)
8. Patriots @ vikings (Dud, interconference and Vikings will suck)
9. Raiders @ Seahawks (Dud)
10. Bucs @ Panthers (Rivalry, Playoffs, Good)
11. Giants @ Jaguars (Ok)
12. Packers @ Seattle (Dud)
13. Panthers @ Eagles (Good)
14. Bears @ Rams (Dud)
15. Bengals @ Colts (Good)
16. Jets @ Dolphins (rivalry, Playoffs, So so)

Sunday night has MUCH better games....

looks like they used monday night for their Mandatory Favre Primetime games, NFC north stinkers, ode to New Orleans, and a bunch of weird AFC-NFC match-ups. Now check out sunday till week 12 (after that is flex Scheduling)
1. Colts @ Giants (Good, Peyton vs Eli)
2. Redskins @ Cowboys (Rivalry, Playoffs, Good)
3. Denver @ NE (AFC Re-match in NE, Good)
4. Seahawks @ Bears (ok)
5. Steelers @ Chargers (Ok)
6. Raiders @ Denver (Rivalry, ok)
7. ----------
8. Cowboys @ Panthers (Good)
9. Colts @ NE (Good, Rivalry)
And aftet that all the games will have playoff implications...ESPN will have to do a lot bette than just some "expanded SB type coverage" to beat this. And who wants 6 hours of pre-game for the Saints/Falcons game?
