MMA: Lesnar vs. Couture

Has Lesnar really earned the opportunity for a title bout? There is no way that Lesnar beats Coutoure in my opinion.

I am disappointed that Coutour is headed back to the UFC but maybe this is just the first step in getting out of his contract with the UFC. I have heard no mention of his lawsuit during the announcement that Randy with fight Lesnar.

I am dying to see a Fedor/Coutour fight before Randy is just too old.

After watching last night's fight, Lesnar definitely has the skill to be in the fight. I still question whether or not he earned the opportunity going throught the UFC ranks...but it is all about the business aspect of the game.

Let me add...I was surprised at how long Lesnar's reach was....difficult to get out of the way.

I think you're referring to the Frank Mir fight. Mir is an experienced guy, and a submissions expert. That leg lock that Brock was caught in was something that greener fighters are open too. Before that though, Brock was hammering Mir pretty good. But you're right, he does fly out at the bell; and any mistake he makes Couture will certainly capitalize on.

Mir is an experienced guy but he's had some difficulties coming back from serious injuries sustained in that accident.

Prior to the accident, Mir was one of the most dominate fighters I've seen.

Just as a side bar...the Florian fight was short but great. I always underestimate Florian. I thought Stephenson would be stronger and take out Florian. Florian's feet are fast and his ground game is strong.

What a great event last night. Lesnar's punching power must be pretty devastating, he rocked Randy at least once before that final flurry. I was most impressed with Hazlett and Florian as well. Hazeletts armbar was amazing, you're right Wildo, he's a walking definition of the advantages to rubber guard.

Good to see Matt Brown win as well, I always root for him. I wish Amir hadn't gotten that leg infection, I'd have loved to see him fight.

Lesnar literally bulldozed Couture....I just could not take my eyes off the fight.... Lesnar's fists were flowing left, right and center.........Goshhh
