Patriots Injury News Milton Williams "Could Miss Multiple Weeks" [update: IR, out at least 4 weeks]

Sorry, but a plague on BOTH your houses. The ONLY salient points are that the moment the Pats put him on IR, he was going to miss 4 games and he has a 21-day period to be placed back on the roster. That is what we know right now. EVERYTHING else is merely speculation.

This is the NFL and injuries happen and we have one to one of our key players. We certainly have been fairly lucky with injuries thus far so we can't complain. Milt is gone for the next 5 week period and should no longer be part of the conversation. Heal up, buddy and we will see you after Christmas. Now let's continue the talk about the Players who ARE going to be here for that time period.

We're going to miss big Milton Williams. He's been a huge part of why our DL has been dominant this season. Hopefully some other players can step up because those are huge shoes to fill.

Because the Patriots put him on IR, Milton must miss a minimum of 4 games. If he comes back after the minimum period of time that means we probably can get him back at the tail end of the season just before the playoffs start. Wishing him a fast and complete recovery!

The higher up you go, the worse it gets. Low ankle...meh. High ankle.... that's a lot different.

Then you get to the knee.... and if you're lucky, you never experience a **** sprain.

Thank God Milton Williams doesn't have a **** sprain!

Low **** sprains aren't too bad. It is the high **** sprains that are painful and take so long to heal.

Don't tell DaBruinz your high **** sprain will heal in 2 to 4 weeks, he will go crazy insisting that you rest your **** longer. WebMD and all.

Goes without saying.

Yep; imagine the 1-2 punch we would've had now...
Cap.. here me out here in this post before the board goes bonkers..

Milt is phenomenal and has been everything you'd want in a defensive lineman.. however we have the depth featuring Barmore and others to help offset the loss. Of course we'll miss milt and all he brings.. however... this defensive line was worse than Dorchester traffic last season.. it's marvels better this year. The depth is much better.

I'd argue that the loss of Gibson has been more glaring.. special teams and his running abilities especially between the tackles. Losing Gibson has really stressed the depth at RB.. Henderson has been phenomenal as of late however we still miss Gibson. JMO

Thats a big suprise. Bedard said he talked to vrabel and he made it sound like he would have played if it were a playoff game. Kinda sucks but the bills game is still 30 days away, think we can survive till then
A friend of mine was prone to sprained ankles of this sort, they always bothered him more the next day when they swelled.

Don't they offer that new tightrope surgery for those?

Yep, the next day is the worst. I never had a high sprain which id imagine is way worse but a couple times i sprained my ankle and was able to run on it for hours. Then i woke up the next morning and couldn’t put any weight on it at all, could barely walk for a few days

Edit - scratch that, memory is slowly becoming more accurate. it was a knee sprain when i was able to run temporarily before it swelled up. When i sprained my ankle bad i couldn’t do **** from the start lol

This board is just a bunch of **** sprains

I've had both the regular and high sprains. The latter is always crutches for weeks. I don't wish it for anyone.

I will say we've seen players over the years get high ankle sprains and be out for many weeks. Ive never seen a player go down and stay down in obvious pain like williams. So i think his must be pretty bad.

Agree; our depth along the DL, while not world-beaters by any stretch themselves, is adequate enough for the regular season... Better certainly than what he have or more specifically what we don"t have at RB as you correctly mentioned, and also at OG and especially at Cornerback, where "Double-A", Charlie('s lost in the) Woods & Kobe Minor League comprise the Worst set of backups at that position in the Entire league.
