It sucks he is going to be out especially against Buffalo, but I think the Pats can minimize his loss in four man fronts. But it is going to be time for Farmer to step up. He has been good in limited play. He will be playing more now.

There's no need to beat yourself up over it. The best thing to do is not engage with posters like this.
The best thing to do is to hit that blue mute button and scroll down to block. I have done that now with a couple clowns and its been great ever since.

Love milt..and he's a huge part of the defense..however the loss of say gonzo was more apparent.. remember how when the secondary was bombs away.. giving up big play after play? Once gonzo got back in it settled down..

We have enough in Barmore, Tonga, farmer and now Durden stepping up.. with Ponder as well to help mitigate the loss of milt..

I have too, and I know what you mean. But not every "high" ankle sprain takes months.

Especially when you have professional therapists treating you every day. They will take good care of the $104 million man.

Best thing is not doubling down when someone rightly calls your post stupid. DaBruinz was over the top but there’s blame on both sides imo. Going off on the team for being cautious and protecting an injured high priced player isn’t the wisest comment to make.

I don't know what your problem is DaBruinz, but you have one. Did we tangle in the past or something, cause I don't recall it.

This whole stupid exchange started when I simply said I disagreed with making an IR move on Williams, because in this case there's a 6 1/2 week IR duration (not 4) due to the bye week and TNF. Plus this isn't a knee or calf or toe, it's an ankle sprain and he re-entered the game after it happened. It's significant because in 5 1/2 weeks we play Baltimore, and if Willaims is cleared medically at that point, he won't be able to play cause he's on IR. All in the name of opening a 53rd spot on the roster, and the team has gone with 52 multiple times this season.

Teams struggle with this decision on EVERY freakin' injury, and make many mistakes with it (e.g., Gonzo's hamstring). I would say it was a fair point to raise, and not particularly controversial. But NOOO, you and ima decide to lose your minds calling for Allah to condemn me to a thousand deaths.

This is a GM/HC question about whether or not to use IR, it's not a doctor/medical question like you're making it out to be. He'll play when he's cleared, not before, and in this case it's possible that he'll be ready before he's off the list.

I just read this post again. Ya, you are a idiot. It makes no frikin difference if you agree with the IR move or not. The player does not care about what you think about the move. The team does not care about what you think about the move. The forum does not care about what you think about the move. The doctors do not care about what you think about the move. This is the idiocy of it all. YOU DON'T GET ANY OF THAT. Doctors examine the player a million times in a day. They get a action plan together based on what they think is best for the player. The team takes that plan and then makes a decision on the roster spot. They don't need to ask you, nor do they care.

The biggest idiocy is that you are not a doctor, you have never seen Milt's x-ray, CT scan, MRI, or ultrasound and here you are spouting off and criticizing the Pats for putting him on IR. Idiot is the only description that fits you. The decision certainly is doctor+coach+GM, you idiot. Yes it is a medical question.

The only "problem" I have is YOU being a loud-mouth moron blathering stupidity that you clearly have no clue about.

Here are FACTS:
- You have NO CLUE what constitutes a "High Ankle Sprain" and how it differs from a regular ankle sprain.
- YOU completely dismissed actual MEDICAL INFORMATION about High Ankle sprains
- The IR is LITERALLY about the MEDICAL CONDITION of the Player.
- The team went with 52 for the first 5 weeks of the season. First 4 was because they were holding the Spot for Tavai.
- High Ankle Sprains take weeks longer to heal than a regular ankle sprain.

What you consider a "fair point" is meaningless. Especially when you've shown how pathetically ignorant you are of the injury in question. And it's highly IMPROBABLE that he'll be ready to go prior to the Baltimore game. The fact that you coontinu

Neither myself nor @imahobgoblin have lost our minds. We're the ones who are using facts and reality to contradict the absurdity you've been posting. The fact that you've continued to act as if a High Ankle sprain and a low ankle sprain are the same despite medical evidence to the contrary shows how ridiculous you are. You're so f'in arrogant that you actually INSISTED that Doctors who have done studies on the length of time for healing of the injury are incorrect is just more proof of YOU being the issue.

BTW, Williams will be able to come off the IR on December 22. That's 37 days. Not 45/46 per your claim of 6.5 weeks.

It's not a "HC/GM" question. It's literally a PLAYER MEDICAL ISSUE question. The fact you think otherwise is why your opinion is more worthless than a pile of

BS. No one who has had a HIGH ANKLE SPRAIN acts like they are the same as a regular ankle sprain. Go ahead and show an NFL football player who suffered a High Ankle sprain and was back in less than 4 weeks.

The problem is there are posters who take this **** way too seriously. Who cares what someone else's opinion on the matter is? It seems to be too difficult for some posters in particular to simply reply by saying "I disagree and here's why....". The posts right above me are prime examples that you don't need to go to personal attacks to get your point across. It's just plain bad for the board.

I don't care about why they did it. I just worry our run and pass defense will be significantly impacted.

The good news is that they only face Cook and Henry. Everyone else is pedestrian.

I think they can handle Flacco without Williams but this is one of those classics "you don't know what you've got until they're gone" situations when we're up against a higher performing offense in the playoffs.

Let's hope someone steps up - big challenge for the D now.

What are the rules with IR and team meetings or being on sidelines etc?

Achane, Hall???
Last year we would have raved at having the likes of Tonga and a..healthy Barmore up front. I will continue to say.. guys will step up.. milt is a key piece to the front.. of.. course..however we have depth and guys will be given opportunities to make an impact.
