Michael Floyd DUI Arrest Video Shows Him Passed Out at the Wheel (VIDEO)

It proves that texting/emailing and driving is terribly dangerous but I don't see any way you can make this an apples to apples comparison.
For example:

The guy who is drunk is impaired 100% of the time while the person texting or emailing is only impaired when they are texting.

I am a better singer and dancer when I'm drink......in fact when I'm sober, I don't sing and dance at all

I'm also a better driver when I'm drunk........never cracked up a car drunk.....have done it a couple of times sober

the facts don't lie......bottom line......cased closed.......move onto the next completely pointless topic

Drunk drivers are only a problem when they have an accident, just like texters. Most drunk drivers don't get into accidents or even get pulled over.

nobody is griping about Alan Branch who got cut by the Bills after a DUI and eventually wound up here

these ninnies will get over it pretty soon

Floyd's numbers were based on the following QB's throwing the ball to him:

Palmer
Stanton
Hoyer
Lindley
Kolb
Skelton

I'd probably be drinking too..........I think this is yet another worthwhile reclamation project.

I realized a long time ago that expecting to personally like and approve of everyone on the sports teams I like is stupid. Posting my opinion here is just shooting the sh*t as far as I'm concerned.

more of them are jerks than not....judging them is like judging movie stars and rock stars........if there's redemption to be had, then this will turn into a great transaction

can't win if you don't play

Really don't know what to think honestly. Talented young man that may have a big problem. But you know what? I'm not a drug and alcohol counselor or a judge so I'll let the process work itself out.

Most assuredly will be suspended, how soon or how long? No idea. Never had a dui but not so proudly in my early 20's certainly could of had a few before I smartened up. Hopefully this is the major wake up call that the man needs and he gets help or maybe he beats it on his own terms? Sounds like the Patriots have programs in place to help him if he asks as well as good teammates if he needs it. It's up to him for sure.

The man is gonna play again at some point, why not here? Are we so caught up in the he's a villian/criminal that we don't allow redemption? He could turn out to be a great story or he could be a lost cause. Either way, for the time being he is a Patriot and he has my hope and support.

So long as he didn't hurt anyone and has learned his lesson, I really don't care. I've driven drunk before and nothing bad happened. I also will never do it again as it was incredibly selfish and stupid. If it reoccurs, cut him. Simple as that.

Floyd couldn't talk, couldn't understand what was happening... the dude was basically a 2 year old behind the wheel.

Speeding at any speed isn't comparable.

Your ability to adjust to sudden changes in your surroundings at 143 mph is the same as your ability to adjust to sudden changes in your surroundings at 60 mph while falling over drunk. In that it's nonexistent in both cases. At 140 mph, by the time you see any kind of obstruction it's already too late to make any safe attempt to stop or avoid it.

At a lower speed, you might have a point, but you're seriously underselling how fast 143 mph is. I think your argument is kinda hinging on an implicit assumption that all speeding is roughly equal, but simple science and the limits of human eyesight and reaction time make that clearly not the case. 140 mph isn't the same as, say, 80 mph in the same way that passing out at a traffic light isn't the same as driving home with a 0.10 BAC.

And that's without even accounting for it being in the middle of the night (so even less visibility) and the fact that he had a child in the car with him. I'm not saying Floyd somehow wins this race to the bottom: simply that nobody 'wins' here. I've made no attempt to defend Floyd anywhere in this thread, and I'm not going to start now. They were both monumentally stupid, in slightly different yet more or less equivalent ways (again, before you factor in the child that was in the car).

Not with good attorneys a remorseful Floyd and a letter from BB.
Maybe BB can get the pres to pardon him.
Obviously I know you're joking but the president couldn't pardon him anyway he isn't being charged under a federal offense

Looks like a video of a guy passed out drunk behind the wheel just as I read about. Why is there new faux outrage here? He's on the team now and is a good edition. Get over it.

Imagine all the drinking this guy will do after he wins SB51. He's going to be a WMD behind the wheel that night/morning.

Belichick should be his personal uber that will sober him up.

The line that is most important was your last one. He had a CHILD in the car. And AFTER driving 143mph, with that child and a loaded semi-automatic and the marijuana wafting around - - he THEN DECIDED to evade the police in a car chase!!!!!!!

Speed was probably the 3rd or 4th biggest problem with that case.

.

I'd get wasted too if i was on the cardinals sinking ship..

If he is telling the truth about being on blood thinners that .217 might be inaccurate.
